Dox, you're saying the same thing as Luconn and SJ, just in a different way.

When I said Ohman and/or Anderson should get a red shirt, that was in jest.

How about we just drop Anderson:) I like Ohman, when he's not pumping his fist and beating his chest. This team looks to be shapping up. Young, but if these guys can play - we should be pretty good:)

I suspect Ohmerson will be the one fighting for minutes, and I don't think he is a good candidate for a redshirt. I really don't see the upside to redshirting anyone, especially with only 12 schollies. It is true that in most games we won't use more than 9-10 players, but there can be an ongoing healthy competition for those last couple of spots in the rotation. I think SCAR will back me up in saying that voluntary redshirts aren't much use in D1 basketball any more (cause I know he's said it before).

out of the 12, I think the players that will see limited action this year will be, Sammy Jackson, Johnny Stephene, and Jeremy Anderson. I think that Floyd and Austin will be fighting to get minutes. And B.J. will have his minutes cut a little.

Jackson's a juco. He'd better see a lot of minutes.

I'll be shocked if Sammy's not on the floor a bunch.

I've seen Seth Curry play. He doesn't need a redshirt.

Have seen both Curry and Floyd. Curry gets attention because of the name, but Floyd is just as good. [that's right, I said it.] Nobody redshirts.

It will defnitely be interesting to see how the team gels next year, and how McKay handles the playing time. Hopefully all these freshman will buy into the "team" concept and stick around for their 4 years because we could be very very good if they are here to play with each other for 4 years.

You have a potential lineup for 4 years of Sanders, Curry, Floyd, Carter, and Austin with Johnny being your 6th man. Add to that Baker (hopefully) and JA for 3 of those years. You don't need much more, if anything, to perhaps be able to make a run in the NCAAs.

just as good at what? They have 2 completely different games.

Invalid comparison.

Alan Faneca is just as good at football as Drew Brees, right?

Yes, of course. But each still has just as much potential to impact the flow and outcome of a contest as the other.

Two players of the same game need not possess the same abilities or preferences of play as each other in order to be equally talented. Rather the same level of ability will suffice. Please, in the future, try to keep up...

I covered both of them in high school here in Texas. So there is a link and the argument is proven valid.

Well, now that BJ will be elsewhere what does that mean? Ohman gets a scholly? Campbell gets to keep his? We bring in a new recruit? And who the heck will be in our back court?

Curry
Ohmerson?

Sanders
Curry?

Will Stephene step into a bigger role now?

Wow, this kinda screws a lot of things up.

Ohman's already getting a scholly; we now have an extra one. What will we do with it?

So, we're going to have 4 new starters next year regardless of who they are.

Starting line up:

Stephene
Curry
Smith
Jackson
McMasters

Subs:

Sanders at the 1
Ohmerson at the 2/3
Floyd at 3
Baker at 3/4
Austin Smith at 5

Starters:

Sanders
Curry
Smitty
Baker
McMasters

PG probably the toughest competition with Stephene and Sanders.

I don't see any way a healthy Tyler Baker doesn't start.

I see a lot of even competition for PT off the bench. This team will not have any "garbage time" players like Armon, Oz and Soup were last year. All 11 scholarship players will be in the fight to be part of the rotation.
