I think Layer is here for at least another season, but this thread got me thinking. I've been wanting to go back to Lynchburg and maybe head basketball coach is in my future. My 7th grade rec league team is undefeated and playing for the championship this weekend. Have there been any HMO sightings? I need someone to work on my resume. I'm looking for additional staff members also. You must have coaching experience at a level higher than Upwards. "Coaching Basketball" class at Liberty does not count as coaching experience. Don't PM me if you are interested in being a part of my staff. If you think you are good enough, put it on the line and post it here. If you are an offensive or defensive specialist, please include a synopsis of your base offense/defense with a diagram. If you do not have a diagram available, PAMedic can probably help you out. He's good with graphics.

My defensive philosophy is sort of cutting edge. I like to play a style that keeps my opponent from scoring more points than me. I will say every time I've done that my team has won.
Offensively I'm pretty conservative. I just try to score more points then the team we play. Nothing fancy but pretty effective. I have an amazing record 567-3 when both my offensive and defensive game plans work.

If I knew how to create one of those polls where people vote on random mostly useless topics that have no affect on changing liberty's future by posting!!!!!!!!!! I would certainly create one to vote on this as being the best post of the year!!!

Lol, BJ, I know this might come as a complete shock to you but you should probably know this. 1. You moving to Portsmouth has no impact on any portion of my life. So, no, I had absolutely no idea that you moved because I don't bother to keep up with the daily happenings of people I don't know on a discussion board for college athletics. I keep an eye out in the prayer chapel every once in a while, because God calls me to pray. I just found it completely hilarious that you assumed that I knew you moved to Portsmouth. Why would I know or care about that? We've never met.

2. What I posted was a joke, hence the Nigerian prince. I honestly never thought I would have to explain myself for that one.

3. Why do numerous threads end with you trying to defend your knowledge? Couldn't you just kind of acknowledge that you have minimal knowledge about basketball? There are hundreds of thousands of people who could claim to be, "students of the game," but that doesn't make them knowledgeable.The mere fact that you are using that in defense of your "knowledge" is part of the reason as to why people are poking fun at you.

What about Tim Buckley at IU? Tom Crean is a stand up guy and he's been his right hand man for a while. Also, he's got head coaching experience at Ball State. He can recruit as well.

Im looking forward to hopefully getting a chance to assist or be the head coach down here. One of the administrators is a patient of my dad and so he was able to get me an opportunity to meet with them and apply so it'll be a fun opportunity. My coaching mentor said I could give him a call when I get a job somewhere and he would be willing to help me out, especially if its a head coaching opportunity that I get

As for the topic at hand, Id take a look at Clay Nunley over at Randolph across town. He took what was basically a brand new program and really has done an excellent job building them up. Another one to look at is the head man at Virginia Wesleyan, Dave Macedo. They have been a mainstay in the upper echelon of D3 basketball including a national championship in 2006 and another trip to the show this season

Not great really...in retrospect I probably would have done better with having my notes in front of me (although I know that in a coaching context I probably would not have been able to have my speech/notes in front of me)

I didnt have my thoughts straight up there...I think with a bit more preparation and maybe something in front of me to better lay out what I was trying to say Id have done a better job. Im a decent extemporaneous speaker but only if Ive done my due diligence in preparation
