Actually libertyflames.com says 3pm. Espn says 1pm. Sportsline says 3pm.

3pm it is.

We are #40. I don't know if we've ever been that high at any point during the season. If we have it's been a while. That site is updated daily.

GMU 14
UVA 61
VMI 62
UNCA 162
W&M 236

Sagarin has us at 161 (GMU is at 78)... but the sagarin ratings do say that for the first few weeks of the season, the rankings are skewed. Still, it's pretty darn good, we weren't even that high when we won the Big South in '04.

I think any type of computer rankings are skewed at this point, just look at the RPI top 10:

1) Butler
2) Gonzaga
3) Utah - they lost to a D2 team in their first game of the season, which luckily for RPI purposes doesn't count, but they are clearly not the 3rd best team in the country...
4) Syracuse
5) Evansville - who?
6) Clemson - this is a joke
7) Illinois
8) Pitt
9) Miami (FL)
10) Duke

Just look at UNCA, they lost by 68 points to UNC and they catapulted up the RPI...

You've never heard of Evansville? They play in historically the best midmajor conference.

Evansville has been in the dance a slew of times and pulled off some upsets back in the day.

The team is young for sure and I expect some losses that will make me sad, but at the same time it's really easy to get behind this team. They're playing so hard and finding ways to win despite some obvious disadvantages this season. Given the youth factor, I'm just going to have fun watching them this season no matter what happens.

Also: I wish I could buy Seth Curry a christmas present this year.

My wife allowed me to catch the game in its entirety- stunning win!.

I hate to admit it, but after watching from afar last season- I truly expected a collapse at some point (given these guys ages)and it never happened! WOW, what an effort. Very impressed with the hustle, rebounding, and coaching adjustments. Really looking forward to seeing how we do in conf this year.

I'm going to be late for work because I'm watching the overtime again on tv.

It's worth it.

I like Johnny. This kid is going to be a solid contributor for the next 4 years. Watching him work in the open court is fun due to his quickness and schoolyard style of play.

Amazing, too- that even with a relatively quiet game, Curry managed to get his 22. The kid is just amazing.

Could be wrong, but I think Ohman led us in scoring for the majority of the game- at least until the last 10 minutes or so.

I loved RMK's reaction after the game; when he walked toward the student section yelling and pumping his fist. That was so awesome to see him so pumped up.

I agree, to an extent. He was moving so fast on the court, he was out of whack on a number of plays. You simply can't afford to dribble the ball off your foot in a game as closely contested as last night.

However, he seems to be able to get in to the paint at will. He's the perfect compliment when Sanders is on the bench.

Yeah, I was hoping there'd be a picture of him all fired up like that. I have never ever seen Ritchie so animated, either for bad or good, as I saw last night.

One thing I have noticed....

Does anyone else see the leadership role that James Spencer is playing on this team? Even when he's not on the floor, he's talking to the guys on the floor, always first to slap hands or chest bump on timeouts, he seems to be taking his role as one of the experienced players pretty seriously.

Tyler Baker seems to be doing that as well. I know we make jokes about him on here like crazy, but he's taking an upperclassman role seriously.

This is maybe a topic on its own, but I said after UNCA that we needed someone to step up and be a leader. Anthony is doing that with his play. That's the type of leader he is. Jesse and Seth are stepping up and leading things on the floor. They've answered the thing that was my biggest concern.

I came during halftime (practice at TRBC for the Virginia Christmas Spectacular) and I was pretty worried when GMU got on a roll and tied the game and then when they went up 4 in overtime. These guys are seriously legit and Seth Curry...what can I say that hasnt already been said...he is somethin special for sure. And to think he hit the same shot from the exact same spot two games in a row.

I DVR'd it last night while at the game and came home early this morning to watch it before I go to work.... I love that shot by Curry from almost dang-near half court. Everyone in the building knew soon as he shook the guy he was gonna shoot it from that far out.... you could hear the "Oooooohhh" about a second before he event went up with the shot.

Can't see much of the crowd going wild except for a second after the Curry three.

However, TTL got some serious face time with his whiteboard.

awesome game...RMK is starting to get more and more out of every player that he puts on the floor and it's great to watch

on another note, I'm really happy that they are finally putting video highlights on our website

Talk about 2 great games back to back. I was in town for Coker and was impressed with the way the young kids seem to be playing together. We move the ball very well and seem to look to make the extra pass. Curry is flat out outstanding. I met Stephan and Dell Friday and that was pretty cool. I really like the way Sanders plays as well - he has great court awareness and just flat out hustles all over. Floyd, Ohman very promising.

I saw the W&M and GMU games on the tube. Scar was brilliant. Anyway, could you ask for 2 more outstanding games? You get the feeling that Curry is just a flat out money player. Those close games are games in the past LU loses. Hats off the McKay for a great job to date and the young kids for hanging tough in crunch time.

Overall, the BSC continues to improve and so has LU. I really feel like FINALLY we have a real chance to win in basketball on a year in and year out basis.

Go Flames.
