Coach of the Year: Ellis
Most underachieving team: VMI

I agree with giving Cliff props, but Cherry has done a nice job at HP, and Layer has done well at LU with the mess McKay bolted and left him.

However, I very much disagree with your "most underachieving team" being your Keydets. Unforuntately far and away, it is my beloved Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs:

1. Seven seniors on roster, four of five starters returned from last year. Eight letterwinners returned this season.

2. Preseason #4 in coaches poll, listed anywhere from preseason #3 to #5 depending on publication.

This season makes two of the last four seasons with 20 or more losses, with the best finish in the span being only 16-16 overall. Totally unacceptable at any school, except G-W apparently, where nobody has the guts to stand up and show Scruggs the door.

Winthrop doesn't score in the final 9:25 and absolutely chokes it away at Radford. Good job Eags.

Darn, so LU is likely headed to Winthrop now for the first round?

UNCA just wrapped up the No. 4.

So it's nearly set:
#8 VMI at #1 Coastal Carolina
#5 High Point/Liberty at #4 UNC Asheville
#6 Liberty/High Point at #3 Winthrop
#7 Charleston Southern at #2 Radford

Again, High Point wraps the No. 5 with a win tonight. Liberty can only get the No. 5 with a win and a High Point loss.

Macmillan got tossed in the game due to kicking a UNCA player. Senior leadership supreme.

We had a chance to tie on the last possession, but Flittner missed a 3. 89-86 final.

Haha, I admit that I kinda love being that guy...

Just making my point that, really, it's a push. Both teams are a tough matchup for us. Both are forever away from Lynchburg, and Atlanta. We're not the favorite against either one.

I can't really see any of the lower seeds winning. HPU probably has the better chance with Barbour on their side, but playing in that little box in Asheville is never easy. VMI and CSU will both get plastered. LU could hang tough at WU, but only if they shoot well.
