Stephen & Seth Curry: Stephen Curry has proven that he is the best scorer in college basketball. He’s still leading the country in scoring after being held scoreless against a constant double-team from Loyola (MD). Going into the season, a lot of people, myself included, were questioning whether or not the transition to the point and the burden of running the offense would hinder his ability to score, but Curry has shown he can score as well as involve his other teammates. He’s averaging 7 APGand has a assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.8. Curry is also contributing on the defensive end with 3 steals per game. Curry has evolved from a pure shooter into a college basketball star and perhaps the best player in the land. His younger brother Seth has shown that he’s learned a thing or two from his father and older brother. He’s averaging 22 PPG as a freshman at Liberty and had a 26 point performance against Virginia and 22 points against George Mason.

It's not Stephen and it's not Dell. The latest news out of the family is Seth, pouring in points at Liberty.

Stop me if you've heard this before:

The kid named Curry, the one with the skinny legs and long arms and number 30 on his back, is working the perimeter with the ball. The man defending him is in his face as Curry ducks his head and acts as if he's going to put the ball on the floor and drive into traffic.

Seth made the decision to go where the light is, rather than live in the shadow of the other Curry men. “I want to be my own guy,” Seth says.

Now there's a one-word slogan with a Christian meaning (and a Flames allusion).

This guy I work with just came and told me he was watching some show on espn and they showed seth's long 3-point shot against GMU.

“It's about what fits me the best. It was the same with Stephen. There definitely is a shadow but there's nothing I can do about it but be me. People want to pressure me to be what Steph is or what Dad is. I can't worry about that.”

Last March when even LeBron James was making it a point to watch Stephen Curry play basketball, Seth had his own games to play.

More than once, Dell pulled Seth aside to make sure he wasn't feeling overlooked. When the Wildcats reached the Elite Eight and a match-up against Kansas, it meant Dell and Sonya would miss Seth playing in an all-star game.

“I said, ‘Are you all right?'” Dell remembers. “He said, ‘Yeah, I'm OK.' It gave him confidence. He was like, ‘I grew up playing against this guy.'”

They almost played against each other this season. For a time, Davidson and Liberty were scheduled to meet, but, ultimately, it didn't happen.

“I'd have loved it,” Seth says.

He's smiling at the thought. Seth against his brother. With real officials to call the fouls.
