I don't think they should have put it in the media guide either. No real point to it. As far as sending a "tender" for media interviews is concerned, maybe for freshmen, but not for Smitty. Dude is a Senior team captain and is married with 2 kids. He's a man. He can speak for himself.

Everyone needs to have someone with them....Chris is a writer with integrity but not all of them are and they will try to bait you and every now and then that bait looks good

Like I said, every basketball interview Vince is with the player. If Vince can't make it, I'm sure Todd or Ryan is there instead. No one does an interview without a representative from Media Relations there. It doesn't happen.

Also, I was just thinking about this, but let me pose this idea. No one mentioned what Anthony said in the media guide on here for a year and a half, even after many of us knew about it. Could that be because instead of it being a shot at the past coach, it's a credit to the new coach.

Follow me here for a second. Anthony has such a great relationship with Coach McKay that he named his daughter after him. You don't do that for someone you just kinda like. I like a lot of people, but I'm not naming my kid after any of them. Instead of looking at this in a completely negative light, is it possible that part of it came from his relationship with Coach McKay?

I dont think Ant was taking a shot at RD, I think it was more of his love for RM...but that's my point, there are different way to phrase things to still prove that same point...if he was trying to take a shot at RD then there's only one way for that...and he's a kid (some say man b/c of the family but he's still young) so I dont fault him for even saying something like that...I fault those around him during the process

As far as it being in our media guide, I had no idea...I dont really read them in great detail. It still makes me chuckle to think about that being in a media guide...haha wow...I remember that day Doc found out about the Champion article...I thought heads would roll...he was very adamant that nobody would say anything negative about our past or present employees publicly

Here's hoping someone puts the video montage mentioned in the article and played before the game on the web for those of us out-of-towners.

I know lol that is why I said it would be awesome....Larry Bird likes good work ethic and character thought so Anthony has that running for him!

not really going to be much room for anthony on the pacers roster. brandon rush, danny granger, jarrett jack/tj ford, and mike dunleavy (if he stays healthy), and marquis daniels are going to take up every single minute at SG and SF with some of them splitting time at PG.

considering rush is only a sophomore now and showed flashes of being able to be good, he'll get PT over anythony. danny granger, no comment needed. jarrett jack just had a career year, tj ford is a pure PG, which anythony isnt it. mike dunleavy is as talented as anyone in that group after granger. marquis daniels had a career year. I just don't see anthony making the pacers nba roster...

I think he named his last child's middle name McKay...I could be wrong though...
if true, how much do you think he regrets that decision now, though it didnt effect him too much with the departure

When you get to that level, it's about more than making the team you're trying out for. Everyone knows that GMs talk and that scouts talk. If you get a tryout and excel but that team doesn't need your services, chance are other teams are going to find out about you and my give you a look. Getting the tryout, even as a favor, is half the battle.

Jon is right about that. Also it looks good on your resume when trying to get with overseas teams. You can command more money by demonstrating that NBA teams had interest in you.

That is EXACTLY right. The NBA has become the standard for over seas ball. It is comparable to a kid wanting to come to Liberty and him saying that he had offers from Duke/Carolina/UConn... top programs... It just improves your stock in any situation no matter the NBA team that takes a look at you....

... Even an D-League team like the Thunder or the 76ers (haha Scar)

NOT. FUNNY. My Sixers will be back off the D list before you see Brick laying Dwight Howard back in the finals (that was harsh). Just teasing man but if they don't re-sign Hedo they are in trouble...Smitty is a long shot but it is nice to get a look.
