I read the first paragraph of paradox's post then completely wrote him off 100% as having no clue what he's talking about.

Any LU supporter knows that Chris Lang has covered LU completely unbiased and providing the best coverage LU has ever gotten in the N&A.

I'll second that. He has ALWAYS tried to find the silver lining in ALL sports. Three Cheers for CL "Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray" "For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good felllllllllllow. That nobody can deny!"

Several things:

1. The Buffalo game last year was close until the final two minutes, when the big center drilled a 3-pointer to push the lead back up to six or seven.

2. Liberty was down 17-3 to East Carolina before rallying and winning by eight. Not a dominating win.

3. I'll agree, very good, dominating home wins against St. Francis and Longwood. That Longwood game was as well as I've seen the team play in the two years I've covered the team.

4. paradox, you already made all the points (which were very good) why Dunton should be retained. No need to repeat them. I was just offering some numbers for consumption. You must look at all of the facts before making a decision either way.

5. By presenting facts, I've "made my opinion clear" and I want Dunton gone? Come on. Question my objectivity if you want. I don't really care. But if you think I care about Liberty athletics in any way other than in doing my job for the newspaper, you're out of your mind. I know that's a cold way to look at it, but it's the truth.

wow paradox you should take a break from posting for a while...Chris Lang has always posted great information on this site and to call him out like that is out of line....and with that you say we are undefeated at home this season when we aren't even undefeated this season at home...I haven't thought you were out of line with the things you have said until now...this is just getting rediculous....

The haters are taking the Chris Lang exchange just a little too hard as they do with most things.

If Chris an I were having this exchange over a couple of beers, we'd be smiling. :)

I just couldn't resist at taking a pop at the whole objectivity thing, especially when it seems to be subtley stating the case against Dunton and any progress that this team has made.

I am aware of the difficulties surrounding his line of work, and he certainly has a right to state his opinion in any way he that he chooses.

Actually, I like Chris, and I value his comments

Chris,

These are all valid points, however, this team has made progress and that can be backed-up. I'm more interested in where we're at by season's end. If this season turns out to be the bomb of that last year was, then I guess the writing will be on the wall. But there is still alot of basketball to be played here and Dunton has proven that he is more than capable of rebiulding this thing and having a successful season this year.

In no way do I have you in the same category as our star trek friends on this board. I'm just having a little fun with hyperboyle, and of course stirring up the Dunton hatemongers--all in fun

Again, I ask. WHY THE HECK IS HE IN THE SITUATION OF HAVING TO REBUILD A MESS? WHO IS THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT??
(there is certainly no one left around to blame)

I have tried to stay out of this mess as much as possible but I have to comment on Paradox's attack on Chris Lang... that is shameful. I love your enthusiasm for the program and Coach D should feel great knowing that there are people as loyal to him as you, but to question Chris's ethics and objectivity is asinine at best.

Have you ever had one conversation with Chris... I have, and I can tell you that you are way out of bounds on this topic. "Paradox" may be "paranoid" about the situation, but that doesn't give you the right to make libelous statements about a respected reporter.

Personally, I don't think we should be discussing possible coaching changes in midseason, RD has earned the right to have the fullness of this season to make a case for his program... also, I have the highest respect for Jeff Barber and will support what ever he decides to do... but to attack a "messenger" like you did here does nothing for the cause but to lower your own credibility. I think at worst you owe Chris an apology and without it, I can't imagine your future posts will be taken seriously.

I appreciate your passion but that doesn't give you a blank check to attack innocent bystanders.

It's called conversation and some people enjoy it and can exchange differing views and have some fun with it.

Backbone? Are you serious? You ripped the most respected LU beat writer ever and then got completely toasted by every person on this board, and now you're saying you were joking and all of that. You weren't joking. Everyone and their brother knows that. You're trying to save face, but everyone on here has completely written you off. If you stick your foot in your mouth too many times, eventually you're going to choke on it.

I type too slow... there were 5 posts in the time it took to type mine... I hope this post is more accurate to your feelings that the one that started all this.

I have no problem with you "having fun... and stirring up the haters"... but you can't do it at the expense of a journalist's credibility. That is as bad as what you accuse the other side of doing to Coach D's character.

Poor taste... very poor taste.

Paradox, I understand where you're coming from, honestly, and I can see where you might infer that I'm subtly doing this or that by what I posted. Message board tone is hard to read, but believe me, I meant nothing sinister by putting the RPI numbers out there. They are what they are.

Which is probably why I shouldn't have posted it on one of these Dunton threads. Should have put it somewhere else. Just got caught up in the conversation and the direction the thread was going.

If questioning another person's integrity in a public forum is "having a little fun" then I guess my parents brought me up having different types of "fun."

I am not a "hater" I have supported Dunton more then most...I have continued to say that if things continue to go as they are then there is no other choice but to move in another direction....but what you said was out of line, and nobody is buying it man

but we won tonight...and that is all that matters

I hear that. I distinctly remeber saying that I hope we run the table. I guess they think I mean the buffet table. And seriously, if we had SCAR on our team, THAT would be easy!!!!
