Im sure he does...but I think there are other factors that will play an infinitely larger role in the process

jcmanson wrote:Well obviously I care or I wouldn't have asked. It's a serious question. I agree 100% he should have been gone long ago. I am wondering if what a new coach would have to work with would be usable or would he have to start from scratch, like Buzz at Tech..flamehunter wrote:Is our talent that bad or is it the system?Who cares at this point? He wouldn't even consider taking the job right after Dale unless Dale was going to retire and ask them to name him the coach. At least that is the impression I get.

Then you throw in (in no particular order) a practice facility, HD Scoreboard, TV package, State of the art campus, great Christian environment, winnable conference and the fact that you can't go anywhere but up at this point, then you will attract some major attention for the job when it is open.Plus the administration has shown that they will give a head coach another chance to redeem himself after 1 conference championship, a 75-97 overall record, and 43-43 in the Big South.
jcmanson wrote:There isn't much pressure at all on the men's hoops team. Football is clearly king and baseball is #2. Just keep us out of the 300s in RPI and you should be fine.Which is ridiculous. They need to get some people who know basketball, listen to the knowledgeable basketball people who are already connected with Liberty, and fix the program. Men's basketball needs to be the clear #2 sport on campus (nothing against any of the other sports).

I really respect both guys and Jeff has been first class with me each time I've met him. I was just thinking out loud that he really hasn't fired anyone other than dunton that I know of. That goes to show overall how solid the athletics are. Basketball has been the consistent black sheep. Now we may not have met our expectations in some sports but nowher near this. And he actually didn't fire RD. Remember his contract expired. I know, tomato tomAto
