CPA won their 3rd straight Region Championship to go 32-2 on the year. Braxton led CPA scorers with 17 points.

This kid could be special next year. Sounds like he is a scorer which we desperately need. We have been missing that go to guy all year. Last year Speaks played that role when we needed a bucket he produced.

CPA won their sub-state game last night 73-42 to head to the State tournament next week bringing them to 33-2 for the year. Braxton had 14 points and a bunch of assists.

Braxton had 20 points as CPA wins the first game at the State Tournament by 73-39 to go 34-2 on the year.

Love the updates pop! It looks like Braxton has become more of a scorer this year. Has he kept his assist numbers up? I'm really pulling for CPA to get that 3rd straight state championship. It will give Braxton great credibility with his teammates if he is going to take a leadership role running the team from the PG position as a Freshman.

In the course of browsing through whatever I could find online about our recruiting class I came across some information on how CPA was upset in the state semis. Braxton was in foul trouble throughout the game and fouled out with a minute and a half to play. He wasn't on the court for that last second shot that beat them. I wonder if pop would like to comment on the quality of the officiating. Looks like he's too classy for that though.

No complaints on officials oldflame. Braxton had a reach in foul trying to make a play mid-quarter and fouled out when he was driving and kicked the ball out for a 3-pointer. He was called for a charge that, like most charges, could have been called either way. The bigger problem was our big guy fouled out with 6 1/2 minutes to go so we lost the inside game and rebounding the rest of the way. Jackson SS did a great job guarding our 3-point shooters which was a huge part of our game. We also missed a bunch of free throws which we normally did not do. CPA probably peaked mid-season and lost some of their intensity which often happens when you win as much as they had. Hopefully Braxton has refocused and will be ready to help you guys out next year.

Thanks for filling us in pop. CPA was on such a roll, they certainly looked like the best team in the state. Having not 1 but 2 key players fouled out certainly explains how it could have happened. Would have been cool for Braxton to arrive with 3 straight championships, but I'm sure he will use the loss as motivation to get that first conference crown at this level.

Due to grades Braxton was exempt from exams and has completed high school and will graduate in a few days. He should be at LU by June 8.

Actually a grandfather. Not relieved...he has been a pleasure and point of pride his whole life. Always made great grades, led his athletic teams, quiet and polite, and dedicated to the Lord. You are going to love this kid....I promise!
