That's great about G'town, but they are a young team searching for an identity right now and rank 45th nationally in most rankings. Richmond ranks in the top 30 in most places thus far.
They routinely turn out NBA talent and win tournament games under JT III.
They do? They've put three guys in the league the last 10 years. They've also won the same number of tournament games the past three years that G'town has. Sure G'town was w/o their best player last night, but to say Richmond is better than them this year isn't that far off thus far.

I think you're right, especially if Coronado continues to improve. He looked like a different player last night.

No, not really. We played at a good high major program, where nobody on our team (or likely any Big South team) would be able to make the roster, and stayed competitive for most of the game. We shot well for the night, did a better job getting penetration and finding open shooters for the 2nd straight game, and didn't get embarrassed like we did against Richmond despite Georgetown being a better team than Richmond.

There's been real, noticeable improvement over the 3 games as all the new pieces try to figure out how they fit in, yet you would think none of that is happening with the way you're completely misrepresenting the games.
You seem like a real miserable person.. I am sorry you have had such a hard life. Also, until Coronado starts putting the ball in the hoop, i am hardly going to act like his play has been special. Yea the 13 rebounds were nice, but lets make at least two baskets.

:dontgetit What part of that post makes him a miserable person? It was an honest and positive assessment. I think there are some players in the Big South that could make the roster, but they were not being recruited by the likes of Georgetown out of high school. If that is your issue, it is petty.

Sum, it is not that one post by itself. It is the past couple of his posts. Thanks for asking though.

We lost by 42 to Richmond and they were picked 10th in the A-10. See, I can pretend that the preseason rankings are the actual quality of the opponents as well.

Agreed. We're playing a quality OOC schedule and performing better each game so far. Adding JVP, Burrus and Gielo back into the mix should only improve our chances.

Actually, every one of my posts was positive about how the team played. I'm not the one who referred to a player who grabbed 13 rebounds against Georgetown with comments like "he's flailing around" and "sucks." You went batcrap crazy with nothing but negative, "miserable," comments about the team despite the fact that they were playing well against a very good opponent.

This kind of reminds me of your positive, encouraging remarks of Mike Brown and Josh Woodrum. Oh wait, my bad

Jbock13, knock it off. :) If you have an issue with a comment in a football thread, respond directly to it, but keep it out of the basketball forum.

No, we were talking about his positive comments. And the fact that he rarely has any and to criticize someone else for doing the same as he does is with utmost hypocrisy.

Not trying to distract, I'm just sayin'.

NaJ has been one of the regular "negative Nancy" types around here...Was it him that sparked the AA VS. SCH in one of the recent football game threads?

If you don't agree with him then YOU are the one who is wrong and will thus be labeled a non Christian blow hard. And if you doubt his credentials of unquestionable ness he will spout his résumé. Study

This is laughable, at best, coming from Captain Homer.

I spend the thread pointing out how we played better against a good team than we really should have and it's still stupidly looked at as negative.

As far as AA vs SCH, every Stony Brook fan worth their salt would be taking Priore to task if he gave Coker more carries than Maysonet because it would be a bad coaching decision. Gill did the equivalent of that giving more carries to the guy who had far fewer big plays and averaged 1.5 ypc less than the other. That's not negative, that's something that legitimate reporters should be asking the coach about every week until he provides a satisfactory answer. It's also something that good fans will question until a legitimate reason is given. Putting a clearly inferior player on the field more than his better counterpart is bad coaching.

Oh, and the Georgetown team that supposedly isn't that good this year just handled UCLA pretty easily and won by 8 in a game that was never really in doubt.
