Love Speaks, and JC.

As for who didn't have a good game... I think we all know.

Any word if Sly got out of traffic and finally made it to the game or is he still stuck on a backwoods Texas 2-lane?

I was pleased with the second half performance (although it's hard to determine how much of that was just a letdown in A&M's intensity.) 10 turnovers is terrific. So is 12-15 from the line. Poor shooting on our part coupled with all of the layups/dunks by A&M due to the physical mismatches inside was the story of the game. A&M is the kind of game where we really could have used those inside players who are out with injuries. Lots of work to be done, but considering our situation the final result is not out of line with what I would have realistically expected against a top 20 team.

I took a shower during the second half, but my man SMOOTH hit the nail on the head.

we need better athletes. We may do ok in the BSOUTH but we clearly cannot compete with the "I-A" schools. It's ugly.

and we probably can't recruit better until...

sigh

Still no word from Sly about the game...should we be worried? Maybe Medic can send out an APB.

We finally made it at the half. At least if we are going to miss a half, we got the right one.

I'll post some pics on Facebook & here later when I get some time. Playing catch-up after a midweek road trip.

You guys certainly are down on the inside players. I thought they looked much improved in some ways. It is obvious they work hard in the off-season. Both AB and JVP looked more bulked and quicker than last year. While neither had tremendous production offensively, I wouldn't give total credit to a size mismatch of A&M. There were only a handful of post-entry passes in 40 min. The 6'6 and 6'7 guard/wings in the faces and passing lanes of the guards accounted for that. A&M had 6'9 posts that could guard the hedge with athleticism and prevent offensive flow. No bigs in the BSouth will defend this way.

JVP's screen were much more solid than last year, and will prove outstanding in BSouth play. He missed a bunny, that I'm sure he would want back. Stats said 0-2, but I only saw one shot. Screening is obviously what the staff wants him to focus on. AB has more to bring when he gets the ball in good space for him as well. The continuity of guards will increase as the season develops and that will open up AB and JVP. Losing Sommy hurts, b/c the three of them would have made a nice rotation for 80 min.

AB looked decent. JVP has got to realize if he's 6'6", he needs to play like it. I think he's got potential, but I just don't see it developing. And especially in the foul department.

6'6"? I think I get your point, but I wouldn't say he's used for anything outside of screening and rebounding. The looks in the post were minimal on a whole, and the bigs, especially got most of his points in transition. Not sure more minutes will slow down the rebound and run out of the big 12.
