That is awesome! Inspiration right there! What sparked the girlfriend of facebook thing was something the LUnatics did a couple years ago with a guy on I wanna say Winthrops basketball team, but Im not 100% sure. Anyway made a poster out of a picture with him and it was classic and hilarious. If anyone can recall that I would love to remember exactly what it was.

White Outs (White)
Red River/Blood Bath (Red)
Blue Steel (Zoolander...I mean Blue)

This would leave no doubt what you're supposed to wear. But our admin. is blind to such "secular" ways of doing things. Well maybe not blind, maybe they are just ignorant or don't care.

And IMHO, I don't like our basketball grey or our football black unis. It starts at the top people, before it ever reaches the students. Keep it "in brand" from the top, and with some nudging, it'll trickle down to the student body.

and jbock I dont think that chanting the name of his girlfriend to him is inappropriate at all... personal yes that is his personal life but he made it public on facebook so that is something that he chose to do. We said nothing inappropriate at all to disrespect her at all. It may have gotten to him but thats what was desired anyway.

First off, I agree completely about this. Chanting her name, saying "We love ____," or asking "Where is ____?" are all perfectly fine and very fun. If you say derogatory things against her then you cross the line but I didn't hear any of that.

Well I apologize I let personal disputes get in the way of something I regret not doing now... anyway I would like to know suggestions (other than shirt colors) that would be important for us to talk to Kevin Keys about on tuesday and just for us to consider and realize as a group.

This is the best thing you've said so far. Here are my suggestions:

1) Listen to him - this is probably one of the smartest people you will meet and he has more influence than you could ever realize.

2) Be respectful of him - He's been there. He's done it. And he's dealt with us. Chances are 90% of the stuff you'll bring up are things that he dealt with us about. He knows what he's talking about.

3) Do what he says - Life is just easier when you listen to Kevin.

4) Tell him any idea you have - Kevin has said multiple times that most of the stuff that is successful isn't an original idea. You take what you see somewhere else, tweak it, and use it for yourself. If you have a good idea, there's a good chance he will back it. Don't fight him if he doesn't though. You won't win.

I have more respect for Kevin Keys than I do for most people that are at Liberty. He's my favorite boss to ever work for and he could e-mail me tomorrow asking me to do something and chances are I'd do it right away. He loves working with students and will do whatever he can to help you if you do things the right way.

Oh, and if Jamie's in the meeting too, give her a hug for me. I miss working with her.

I just work at LU, I hardly even get to interact with the student body these days, which is saddening.

I think the thinking was, "Once we get everyone wearing red, we can then do white outs, etc and they'll be effective. We don't want to confuse people and want it to be easy." Unfortunately, we're a few years into "Wear Red" and people still don't get it.

You get a lot of red but then you have blue, green, white, gray, I think I saw pink once...its been difficult to get the whole student side wearing red...even when they GIVE it away (the BEAT Coastal shirts, the Red Hot shirts, etc)

basketball games now are more entertaining than they've ever been before. the improv halftime dance during UNCA. dancin' guy james black. jerry jr crowdsurfing. and most importantly the team is fun to watch and we are winning.

as far as a white-out now, id say push red harder first before doing that. wearing red to a basketball game is nowhere near as heavily marketed as football. with football we get there 3 hours early and all you can see is red. in basketball its half red and half every other color. Push red in convo before doing something else.

You may be remembering the Valentines Day game against Winthrop. One player was being fed by a former player, or maybe vice versa. Both players were shirtless. IIRC that was our first loss at home, and it may have been the dreaded white-out game.

I also remember TBGBGBGB and I got in an e-fight and he leaked my identity to BJWilliams, who at the time was trying to kill people. Or something like that.

Also get other people that arrive early involved. I get to every game early and save the section closest to where the players run out. My dorm and the people we know normally take up a good part of that section. I have talked to a few of your guys when they were passing out papers. I would be more than happy to help you guys with anything and so would the guys who come with me. We are always really loud. I love your guys spirit but we need to unifiy the students. If the bottom of every section can get on board with a cheer or something else the rest of the students will follow.

If we got the bottom 10 rows of every section from where the band sits around to the tunnel full then our arena would sound ridiculously loud and would look amazing on tv. Unfortunately, everyone sits in the middle three sections and goes higher and higher instead of filling out around the bottom.

We're getting a little nit-pickey here. I understand the wear red stuff - but let's pack out the student section before we start making plans to fill the arena.

I'm not saying fill the arena. The bottom ten rows in half of the arena is probably only a quarter of the arena at most. What I was talking about was the absolute ideal situation. If we can get to that situation regularly then we will have arrived.
