why doesnt Layer not adopt Ben Howland philosophy and double the bigs? Howland is too all about Defensive and Rebounding but when he faces teams with better bigs he doubles them.

they fought to the end that is for sure...Coastal is the better team, but I think we proved we are not as far away from them as we thought. This team continues to improve and its just nice to see. Its going to be an exciting couple of months

ps...rarely do refs make that call...it takes a ton to get a foul called on a desperation 3 point shot, it still sucks it wasn't called...oh well

Great finish. Evan tried to manufacture contact on that last shot but I think the refs made the right call. GREAT GAME.

VERY impressed with both teams. Hopefully we take all the positives from this game and keep improving.

It looked like Evan got fouled on that last 3 attempt but no call. We lose by 3. Nice game but unfortunately lost a close one. NIce battle at the end with JC hitting some key 3's to give us a chance. CCU looks solid. A very talented team.

Blatant contact at the end of the game, but a no-call by the refs. Just watched the replay. Total bull. Evan should have been sent to the line with a chance to tie the game. I suppose the refs wanted to ensure the CCU coach got his 600th win.

As for the contact at the end of the game, yea there was, but everyone knows the refs swallow the whistle at the end of the game. It didn't help that your guy took the extra dribble to get closer instead of shooting it a few feet beyond the arc where he had more room between him and the defender. Just my opinion though.

Or Jesse wanted to ensure it by missing two big free throws down the stretch, or other guys who missed 2-3 footers during the last 5 minutes of the 1st half, OR it was just a GREAT GAME.

Lets not start conspiracy theories. Coastal is a really good college basketball team. They are bigger and/or stronger particulary inside and they made great decisions with the basketball all night. We needed them to help us out a little and they didn't. Only 8 turnovers, they got 15 offensive boards, and made the free throws they had to down the stretch.

Meanwhile, we put on an amazing 3 pt shooting display in the last minute. Just a great game. Hats off to both teams.

We were doing a lot of the same in the 1st half by missing atleast 3 or 4 layups. Good game though. Maybe we will meet up in the conf tournament?

If you thought I was serious about the refs wanting to give the CCU coach his 600th win.....grow up. I'm not sure if you have heard of it, but there is this little word called "sarcasm" that fits the comment I made perfectly.

Was there contact? Yes. Should it have been called? Yes. I do realize, though, that calls don't get made all the time that impact both teams. At the end of the day, it was a great game.

While CCU is a great team, I do believe this game showed that they are not on a pedestal, completely and utterly superior to the other teams in the Big South (at least not LU or Chuck South).

If you think that those calls ever get called then you haven't been watching basketball very long..there was contact, but it wasn't blatant contact, they got him some with the body.

Liberty has there chances through out the game so it wouldn't have to come down to a play at the end like that, so please don't blame this on the refs...
