Well, at least he won't be playing against us in the Big South (nor will GM be coaching against us in the BSC). :)

Going to keep it here. It effects a scholarship player here.

At least he didn't go to Winthrop.

So how much is known of Orukpe? From what little I've been able to gather is that he can get up and down the court well and should be able to block a few shots and rebound. But he needs quite a bit of work offensively. Is this accurate from what you guys know? Marshall seems to think pretty highly of him but that's about all I've found. I don't know much of anything about the African league he's playing in so it's hard to judge how much 12 and 9 really means.

We don't have anything you don't. There was little information about him. He was a big coup for the Big South but moving up to a tougher conference may slow his development a tad. Marshall will get the best out of him.

Other than being long and athletic, we don't really know a lot about Orukpe. Dunton was certainly excited to have him coming. I think his numbers with his club team in Nigeria are deceptively good. The roster of that team includes no less than 7 players 6'9" or taller, and I believe he was the next to youngest of the bunch. Getting enough PT to average almost a double double shows he has some talent.
