Well, since you're so into statistics. Ed gave 4 examples that span over 50 years of 300+ teams. It doesn't take Prof. Moon to tell you that the odds of that happening aren't very likely. You're litterally holding Duton accountable for not landing a Larry Bird equivolant. I'll even give you better odds. I'll say that there's 1 team per year like you described (even though, there is not). There is not a very good chance of that guy being on your team. But, like I said twice before, this is a subjective discussion and I have my opinion based on what I've observed over the years.

Actually, I gave you the example of the upcoming tournament. And this happens EVERY year in Every conference across the country. (Last years VT team pops into my head) All of the players are not going to be of Larry Bird caliber, but they would be of LB caliber or a little better. Take a good look this week at the conference tournaments and the NCAA's inthe upcoming week with an open mind and I think you may start to change your mind. On the other hand, if you have some specific examples of IAA teams that have come out of nowhere with just a few players in a few years that would be great, I will objectively look at them as well. (Coastal Carolina doesn't count!) Enjoy MARCH MADNESS!!!!

JMU went from nowhere, added some transfers, won a I-AA National championship, and went back to an also-ran in their league in a 3 year period.

Unfortunatley they may not be able to keep up there "dominance". I will say, my point was not that it isn't/can't be done in football at the IAA level, I am just saying it is more rare and difficult.
