I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on Larry's chances on becoming Liberty's all time scoring leader. I know this will be a tough feat, but I would not put it past him. He currently ranks 7th with 1,580 points.

1. Karl Hess 2,273
2. Bailey Alston 2,115
3. Mark Chafin 1,947
4. Steve Isaacs 1,777
5. Peter Aluma 1,715
6. Ed Vickers 1,658
7. Larry Blair 1,580
8. Willard Deshazor 1,545

He will need 693 points next season to do so. He scored 679 points this year, 464 last year, and 437 his freshman year.

He's going to need to kick it up a notch. Maybe if he breaks it, he too can be an ACC referee.

I was thinking that hopefully we can win the Big South tournament next year (not just for Larry's chances at the scoring title of course). That would give him 3 games in the tourny, and at least one more in the Big Dance. Maybe that would be enough for him.

I can't imagine him with some help coming in, breaking the record.

That being said, he's still the most ridiculous player I've ever seen.

my guess is that, though he may not set the individual record- he'd trade that for a tourney win or two in the Big Dance!

The Milestone to immortality in most programs is 2000. He will certainly get to that with an average scoring year. That will be nice. Alston and Aluma are the only division 1 players on that list so if he catches BA he will be the all time scorer in division 1 (but remember, Bailey only played 3 seasons). Hess scored 900 plus his senior year alone. They played a lot of games due to going to the National Championship and he avereged 24.9 a game! Funny line about the reffing LUConn. Did you know that Mark Chaffin is an official as well? Liberty has a few if you count Jason Page who is an up and comer and a guy named Byron Davis who does women's basketball. I was told that Byron Davis played here but that info is incorrect but he did attend school at Liberty. Anyway back to the scoring title. If he passes Alston that will be special enough. Actually getting to 2000 (barring injury of course) will be a major milestone. Hess may be a little too far out there but we shall see.

Perhaps as he gets close, we'll have to let Johnny Moore reference it in convo and get a solid group out during the game where he's going to hit 2000.

Sadly, I'll only be around for one semester, unless the Lord leads me to grad. So, I may have to make the trek to watch him break the 2k and if neccessary, the all-time scoring mark.

Don't even worry about it. He'll get it in the first semester. He'll have Brew feeding him all day.

I will come back for his chance at reaching 2000 Lord-willing, and if he gets to where he could break the record.
