The Bucs have had their hands full with a tough preconference schedule, but gave Winthrop all they could handle. They have a bit more size than we are used to seeing from Barkley´s troops. Maybe they will only start 3 guards instead of 4. 8)

I've heard that he's Griffendor's youngest seeker in decades.

The fact that they have the 333rd scoring defense in College basketball makes me giddy for tonight, however if we don't shoot the 3 well we will help that ranking for them. I think our fresh flames are hungry and determined for a win and Maxwell as he will show us all year will be the power down low as chucky south like Radford will have no answer for him. Flames win this one in McKay like fashion by no less than 4 points and no more than 12.

Very strange to see a CSU roster with 5 players 6´6¨or taller compared to our 2. Having said that, their top 4 scorers are guards, none of those big guys are scoring more than 5 a game and they certainly don´t appear to have anyone who can match head up with Maxwell. If he stays out of foul trouble, it should be another big game for him unless they surround him with a tight zone. If they do that, I would hope playing at home our shooters will make them pay for it.

AC Reid with 18 points so far in first half . Wow. Doubling down on maxwell and outside is open. Plus Reid is being clutch. Nice to see him finding his shot.

Yeah, AC is shooting lights out! We have weathered a big storm by trimming the lead from 16 to 4. The second half and Evan's production will go along way in telling the final story of this game.

We might not need much production from him/max if we hit the outside j with him getting doubled. I'd prefer him to get touches, rebounds, and points though. CSU may have to rethink their gameplan at half and things will open up for maxwell.

Yep, we saw that at the tail end of the half. To close the half on an 18 to 3 run is rather impressive. Love the tenacity and resolve of this team. And we all know that Lovell will eventually make his shots, he's to good of a shooter not to.

31-30 at the half, get ready for another nail-biter!!

well, same story different note for this season. Look good in spurts but when foul trouble kicks in the drop off in talent from our bench to the other teams is noticeable. As a diehard Cubs fans, these are the growing pains we must endure knowing that it is going to get better! Evan is one of the most consistent big men in all of college basketball statistically. Ranked in the top 10 in shooting percentage in all of college basketball. Love the resiliency of our team, it has definitely been a night and day difference from last year. The night Dawson steps on the floor for us in the coming weeks will pay dividends for this team come Jan. to March

Not very often you will lose when you outscore your opponent 40-10 in the paint. The good news is we were able to do it and out rebound them. If we can continue that trend, you have to think we will shoot better from the perimeter. They were +21 at the 3 point line even with AC hitting 5 3s.

Kemrite has been quiet lately and Cabbill struggled tonight which was disappointing since CSU doubled the post all night. Maxwell really struggled with the double team but stayed active all night. Props to Hiepler for his effort and energy tonight. Pains of a young team learning on the fly. 2 more games until we add Dawson to the rotation.

In case you were curious who that wonder-baby was that demolished all of the other babies in the halftime diaper dash, that was my son.

Feel free to RT that or like/favorite it. It's got the #sctop10 tag.

I was hoping we'd stay near .500 till he got in the rotation. Doubt we wil even win another game till hes in uniform.

It was definitely a "two horse race." I counted at least 3 or 4 kids that never even got out of the gate. Congrats on the win! :clapping

Call me highly sceptical as to whether yesterdays first half performance is any indication that Reid´s shooting woes are behind him. After making 5 of 6 3s early he finished 5-11 and 6-15 overall, and missed his last 7 or 8 shots. Even on the shots he made in the first half, he didn´t look comfortable or in rhythm to me. Don´t get me wrong, I was happy to see him have some success, and his hot streak absolutely kept us in the game, but we need Cabbil, Kemrite and Homesley to step up on the perimeter. Only 11 minutes for Talbert? He shot 4-4 and had 8 and 3 in that limited time. On the season his production per minute played is second only to Maxwell. If Maxwell is going to play 30 minutes (which we need him to) I think Ezra should play at least 15 minutes at the 4 as well as backing up Evan for those 10 minutes he is on the bench. He gives us both size and a 3 point threat.

Sorry, nerd in me had to fix that. The student section was making jokes about this all game long though.
