Probably coming in late on this but I've been out of the country for a week. In my view, exhibition losses don't mean anything, like WEF noted, WU lost to queens that year, but they were experimenting line-ups and also held out 3 starters to keep them healthy. Not a big deal. However, you get into regular season games against non-D1's and you must win, the selection committee looks at that.

Larry Franklin's thinking of leaving school? Is that what your saying. I hope its not a case of 'we've got too many guards, I'm not going to play enough.' Although 5 or 6 guards competing for two or three spots is quite a few. I would think Franklin would have an edge over the younger players though.

that is not the case...it is personal. Nothing to do with basketball as hard as it is to believe...I hope he will stay, but right now I don't think it looks so good.

I was wondering if our offensive gameplan has changed any for the upcoming season. There were many, many times last year where we had to throw up some garbage shot at the end of the clock, because we could not even penetrate the three point line. Even when won the the BSC, sometimes it seemed like we won because we were more athletic.

I think last season we were so thin on all aspects, we were forced to play ball control. The offense was pretty much give the rock to Larry and hope he scores or sets someone up for a score.

I can't imagine this season being the same with so many guys that can score.

Having Brew, a seasoned Anthony Smith, and a whole slew of gaurds that can score makes guys like Rell (who is best suited to get his garbage points- putbacks and soft jumpers. He's our best rebounder so focusing on rebounding and solid defense will add to the overall effectiveness of Rell, as well) which allows us to play a more running type game.

Plus I've been told that Justin Holland has been downright nasty running the point during these early practice sessions. IF, a big if, he can stay healthy will be starting at PG until Brew is eligable to play.
