If roundball is your blood, this is the place to discuss the Flames as they move into the Ritchie McKay era for the 2nd time.

You have to reduce yourself to calling me "gutless" because I think the problem is bigger than just the coach. Crybaby Sure when the season is over we can discussion our opinions on DL's status, however our AD has put us in this position and obviously has few answers.

You are gutless because you will not even stay true to your own principles. You point out all of these perceived issues with the basketball team and clamor for accountability yet don't have the intestinal fortitude to hold the person responsible accountable. If your wildest dream comes true and JB left, that wouldn't solve any of the issues you have. DL would still be DL. He would still have the same players and the same resources. JB leaving would have 0 impact on DL Ame the basketball team. The person who would affect the basketball team the most with their departure would be DL, but you are too blinded by your own bitterness to see that truth and are too gutless to face the consequences of that action. You call DL a 'good man and fine coach' but don't want to see that the problems you claim reside with him as coach not administration.
So show some guts, which I doubt you have, and start calling for the firing of DL on this part of the board. Don't wrap it up in your baby blanket of JB bitterness. Do what you call others to do and hold him, DL, accountable for basketballs fortunes. Take your jilted lover feelings of JB to another section of the board forum. That way those that wish to talk hoops can without having you come over time and time again wearing your pouty pants and spewing drivle that even you fail to take heed of.

I was pleased with the way the guys played for 30 minutes. They went toe to toe with the top team in the league for 30 minutes. Hopefully we keep up this level of play, finish strong with 3 wins, and if we get another shot at these guys hopefully we will play a 40 minute game and see what happens

Agreed. I think a lot of the guys who were slated for bench time and been force fed minutes are getting there. I would like to see what we can do this year. Pulling out a first round win in the tournament would be a huge accomplishment for this team. And set the table for even better things to come in the future.

Just because you scream "bitterness" it will not take away the reality of where this program is! Your name calling shows just how shallow your positions are. There are real issues in this program I just believe that JB is not the man to solve them, but have no doubt he cost us a much stronger five years of MBB. I choose to let DL finish the season and see if we can find some quality conference wins or do we duplicate last year's 0-5 finish. Those who are disappointed with the handling of MBB program need not to be subject to your immature attacks.

the program started going downhill right after the 03-04 big south championship was won and hasn't recovered since. There are many people responsible for that and its simply ridiculous to place the blame on one man.

I beg to differ we have the arguably the most talented team on the roster for the 2007-2008 season. So now the revisionist must shape it to justify the regression in MBB. Had Woodson/Williams not got injured in 2004-2005 we had a great chance to repeat. Look at the last 10 BSC games of 2007 and you will see a team again moving toward Championship level. I believe we would have at least two more NCAA tournament team under RD. There are many object stakeholders who now realize the voodoo economics of JB athletics.

Which again shows why your arguments are hollow and infused with bitterness. You are willing to excuse the injuries of 04-05 but not 11-12.
You continue to place blame on an individual who has nothing to do with the product on the floor.
By your convoluted logic, even if we had Coach K Roy Williams or Jim Boheim we would still not have a good basketball team because the mysterious evil powers of the dark side of the force possessed by JB would keep us down.
This is why you are either delusional or gutless.

or both because this program has never been THAT good since I arrived at Liberty in '03 aside from a year here and there. No one person should be blamed. Not RD, not RM, not DL and not even JB. It has been a ongoing struggle for this program to have sustained success.

Mistakes could be pointed out that RD, RM, DL and JB have made through the years. Just sayin

Do you always need to twist others statements. I did not excuse the 04-05 year. We finished 2nd not 9th 0r 10th. RD always talked about the Davidson model and how we were ahead of what Mckillop did there in the first 5 years. He believe the foundation was set in first 5 staff wise, community wise and recruiting wise to take off in next five. Unfortunately we gave athletics over to a would be AD from an SEC development office. He didn't hire Coach K, Roy or Boeheim....he pronounced his hallow promises and hired a guy with a track record of jumping jobs. Call it all your junior high names....I hope we can find a way to get it back on track.

Again you don't have the moral courage to call for the firing of the person responsible for what you feel are the shortcomings of the men's basketball team.
So unless you can tell us all how firing JB will make our MBB team any better you are still nothing but a coward.

As nice as I can put it, you sir, are a moron. Whatever problems there may be, real or perceived, the AD is the least of our problems. Please get a clue.
On a side note, hope you didn't graduate from LU, your grammar is horribly embarrassing. Unfortunately, it is only surpassed by your lack of knowledge regarding LU sports.
