I do not known what point in time the scorebook as to be filled out before a college game, but I would like to think one of the coaches should have checked it to make sure it was correct.Worst thing that can happen is to assume someone did it. I have coached for over 40 years, and I always filled out my own score book. along same lines, I think college coaches hide in locker room too long before games. many only come out with about 2 or 3 minutes before tip off. when team comes out for warmups, coaches should come also

Just had a thought. This may not be on the coaching staff. This could be on the Official scorer. There is a difference.

where does official scorer come from and who pays him/her. If it's official scorer's fault, how can a T be called on LU ? I think the end responsibility lies with coach, but I may be wrong

You would be. And you say you coached for 40 years?

The end responsibility lies with someone on Liberty's end. Not sure if it's the SID or the director of ops or an assistant coach who is supposed to double check the book. Winthrop used the roster it had in its system. Liberty has to check the book. Unfortunate mistake, but in the end, it's on both teams to check the accuracy of the rosters in the game book before the game starts.

One of the interesting items is that line ups only need to be supplied to the scorer by the 10 minute mark not necessarily put in the book. I actually saw a roster written on a napkin!
