If it's true that good teams find ways to win games, then we definitely have a good team. We didn't care for the ball at all, and we didn't shoot well. But we won. Jesse put us on his shoulders.

We turn the ball over way too much and have some very poor stretches but the guys are showing that they have the ability to do the little things late to win close ones.

Jesse was clutch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sloppy and uninspire basketball

Evan Gordon and John Brown are Turnover machines

Evan gotta learn to dribble on the first move, he's getting hit with the travel. Brown is all over the place.

I was thinking we had no business winning this game due to our turnovers and poor shooting and you got to expect to play like this from time to time on the road. Nice to come through in the clutch like that.

Why am I so tempted to drive to Asheville on Sunday.

I have no money. I can't afford the trip. Yet, I'm still itching to go.

G-W turned it over almost as much as we did. The game was ugly, but that was not all the fault of the players. The zebras were definately in love with their whistles, and that always makes it look even worse than it is.

A road victory in conference against a team that has played like a contender is nothing to take lightly. Oh yeah, we're 3-0!

Some observations:

I don't like Jeremy getting big minutes right now. Play JC, play Carter, play Asaad. Not Jeremy. He's not doing the one thing he was brought in to do, so he shouldn't play. I'd honestly prefer James Spencer, who knows the offense and is an experienced leader, over Jeremy Anderson. I like Jeremy, and when he's hitting shots he's valuable, but he's not hitting anything.

I don't like Carter not getting minutes. I know he went thru his struggles, but especially if Lang's tweet was true, and Antwan played more because Joel "wasn't physical enough", then give Carter a few minutes. Let him prove he is or is not physical on any given night. Give AB a breather. Give the opponent another look.

Let Evan run the point if Jesse leaves the game. The offense isn't that complicated, and Chene isn't that dynamic at the PG position. I don't mind Chene playing a few minutes at off guard, but I think Evan is the second best point on this team, since teams have to respect him getting to the rim, and making shots. Both Evan and Chene turn it over, but Evan is more experienced and has more skills, let him run the point if Jesse is out.

Get Jesse the ball 10 feet and in more. He doesn't take pretty shots, but he's high percentage to get points when he gets the ball 10 feet and in. Bring it up the floor, give it to a wing, and have Jesse go to work off the ball. Make this a set play, not just Jesse improvising.

Layer has a lot of confidence in Jeremy. I will guarantee you, if you ask him he will say he is in there for his stabilizing effect more than his shooting, but I would think at some point if he keeps going 0-5 we need to look in another direction. Having said that, we somehow won this game while shooting 1-13 from 3, and that was a shot Chene threw up at the shot clock buzzer. Personally, I'd like to see JC in there more.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but 1 assist 7 TOs? Yeesh, no thanks.

Well, to be fair, you don't get as many assists as an off guard. And traveling TO's and bad pass TO's are different. Wish there were different categories in a box score.

And Phillips had 3 TO's in 6 minutes. So he didn't fair any better. In fact, I'd say that's worse.

I was at winterfest getting ready for the evening when this game was going on but I reiterate what has already been said...the good teams find ways to win whether they go 1-13 form 3 or 13-13 from 3. Whether they have 26 turnovers or 6 turnovers. Whether they...well you get the idea...our boys overcame all the crazy bad stuff that happened tonight and they were ahead on the scoreboard when it mattered...when the clock was triple 0 at the end...and they have a chance to get something they havent gotten a lot of the last few years come Sunday...a win at the Justice Center

I don't really care if we played bad or not, we won. That's all that matters. Teams will have games like this throughout the course of the year, the good teams and dare I say championship teams win these games. We're 3-0 in conference with 3 good wins. Most teams in the league will be 1-2 or 0-3 against the 3 games we've played so far.
