W&M went 1-12 with the 3-ball in the 2nd half. And I think we have finally found a center in JVP who likes to bang in the low post. Burrus and Sommy also gave us some quality minutes. Carter McMasters--not so much; he was in uniform but never saw any PT at all. Surprisingly, W&M did out rebound us.

The Liberty men's basketball team returned to the win column Saturday night, defeating CAA member William & Mary, 71-62, inside the Vines Center.

With the victory, the Flames are 7-5 on the season (2-0 Big South) and hold a 3-1 record in the all-time series with the Tribe. William & Mary falls to 4-6 on the season.

Good win - and a nice rebound after GMU stomped us. JVP showing some signs of being a pretty good player.

I like Sanders, Gorden, Minaya, Brown and JVP w/ Burrus, Sommy, JC, Chene and JA on the bench. Looks like we've got some depth this year.

Seems like the light is never going to come on for CM. I refuse to get excited about another big man again. I thought Russ Monroe was going to be a stud for us and then I thought the same for CM. I will wait and be pleasently surprise from now on.

very nice win for the guys. i really thought JVP had his best game as a flame. the guys realy looked like they had forgot about the GMU loss and just came out and worked hard.

I watched the game on MASN (After I knew that we had won) and will have to say that I like what I saw out there in the 2nd half especially. I don't know if it was W & M just not hitting there 3's or it was LU playing better perimeter defense and making adjustments at halftime but a solid performance. I liked what I saw in Vanderpool. He is really showing some improvement and it showed out there yesterday. With him and Baird coming in next year we could be very good in the post for years to come. I feel kind of sorry for McMasters. He came in so highly recruited and is really taking a step back this year. Hopefully things will work out for him. Even though Sanders and Burris didn't score a lot they did contribute significantly to the teams performance.

If you take out the George Mason game, I will have to say that we are showing a lot of improvement from last year and hopefully can continue throughout the conference play.

The three's they hit in the 1st half were completely wide open... it looked like open gym some of the rotation was so bad but we definitely got it together after half time.

I listened to the game on my way back to Portsmouth for Christmas and definitely the guys locked it down in the second half and it was good to see them pick up a win over a CAA team.

Im hoping to get out to the Hampton game on Wednesday. Any FFers making the trip?
