thought so.

Slyfox, How many Texas players have played for LU and were recruited by RD???

Gabe, Marcus, LJ, Nic Wright, Okafor (Signed then when RD was fired went to Houston) E Miller, Smitty, who else did I miss?

My point is RD would have signed the Sanders brothers if he were still coaching. that is if he wanted them.
You just typed a list of 7 Texas kids who "played for LU". Those are your words "PLAYED for LU". 2 of them never set foot on the court and another played 1 year before he was kicked out of school. Not very convincing.

Oh, by the way, only 2 of the 7 actually played 4 years for LU, and one of those listed "getting a new coach" as one of the greatest moments of his life.

You presented an argument, and olldflame presented facts which completely dismantled your intended point. And rather than re-enter the debate on merit, you ignored the facts he presented. That's weak, and you conceded the point.

I don't think anyone on here is saying we're better at this moment than where we were in RD's best years (03-04). But the majority seems to appreciate the future now more than they did when the future was more of RD. I'll accept short-term backward movement in the interest of long-term success. Let's give this new coach some time.

Seems we are right around where we were in 07.

Not at all really. That year we had experience, but no depth, with only a 7 man rotation, and only 2 scholarship underclassmen on the squad (Armon and Soup don't count). This year we have gotten significant contributions from 11 players and have 11 Freshmen and Sophomores on the roster. IMHO, the situations are night and day.

Ooh, careful olldflame: you're getting me all optimistic!

Quite a valid argument...

I was strictly speaking in terms of performance, as it seems Liberty hasn't taken a step back from 07. This year may be a step back from last year's performance, but it isn't worse than what we saw in years past.

As for the program, you are right. The direction and potential for the program is much better than it was back then. Obviously potential doesn't equal success, but it does give promise for the future.

I would be pretty happy if we could duplicate the results of that 07 team, which were basically a .500 record and a first round win in the BSC tourney. Big difference is we won't be losing players as good as Ace, Rell and TeeJay after this year.

He was. So was Soup. I made a point of noting that they didn't count. Those guys were pretty much gone the day RMK walked in the door and realized they weren't D1 calibre players. It was just too late for him to recruit replacements.

I understand that BJ made 1st team all-conference in the Ohio Valley... Believe they are at 28-4.

Congrats to BJ

Good to see him succeed there! Murray State should make some noise in the tourney IMO.

I hate to keep bumping this whine bag thread, but after watching BJ for about 1 half, and if next year and beyond goes like I think it goes I think that I may stop following sports all together. If you know what I'm saying. And I think you do. I really don't know how I'm going to cope. I get a sense of dread thinking about it. Crybaby
