I don't know anything about Okoye, but let's face it; awards like that are mainly based on stats, and any Freshman with offensive ability coming into VMI is going to probably put up bigger numbers than the other frosh because of their tempo.

When he didn't turn the ball over, that kid could get to the rim anytime he wanted to. If he keeps developing, he will be a stud.

Yeah, I heard we did really well in the scrimmage. The starting lineup is starting to gel, and TB3 is looking good at the 5. Jeremy and Carter coming off the bench gives us a spark. This team will play defense, too, which will help out a lot, but will also test our depth. I think we can show we have good depth, tho.

That is EAST, not NORTH CJ. Not exactly a BBall powerhouse, but it's still good news that we are that far along with a new coach and so many new players.

Making the 2+ hour drive from Richmond for our game next week.

Looks like pretty good tix (122, row J)

You guys travelled well for Bracketbusters last year. Great game atmosphere. We played really well that day. We will not travel so well as midweek and early in the season.

Looking forward to the game. Wish we could get something going in football.........

Welcome to the board, smitty. I think I speak fro nearly every FlameFan is wishing we could schedule a football matchup with the Monarchs. But your guys won't give us a the time of day. Hopefully that changes soon. I'm looking forward to our matchup inside the Vines as well. Wish we had more games under our belt with all of our offseason changes.

VMI can't be a sleeper, they were last year... also Okoye won't win FOY if Reggie and the Twins didn't win it... Gabriel avg 13 ppg and didn't get on rookie team last year.

Sleeper team is LU, CCU, or HP they could all be 3rd or 4th...

I wont disagree with your sleeper teams... I just didnt want to look like too much of a homer, and VMI always surprises me. I think Okoye could get it... Gabriel came in on a year with a lot of freshman talent so that hurt him.

Our predictions skewed just a bit more optomistic than how things played out, but not by a lot, and considering we had injuries to 2 key players I don't see how anyone can be terribly disappointed in the season thus far. As has been noted, every time this team had a really bad outing, they responded with a terrific effort in the next game. I think we can be significantly better next year based on the potential of our returning players alone.

They play a good OOC schedule. A couple of wins/upsets and they're off the 16 line, since they will dominate Big South play. However, if they come out and lose to Navy by 30 to start the year, I take all this back and agree with you 100%.
