Coleman will definitely get some votes for All-Conference. As for CoY I do think that the top 3 are certainly going to be Duggar Baucom, Brad Greenberg or Ritchie McKay. As for DPoY, I do think that Williams of UNCA will be right there if he doesnt get the nod after going back and looking at some things. As for my all freshman team, I dont think you have to be a 20 and 10 every night kinda player to be one of the top 5 freshmen in the conference. Having seen all 5 of the guys I listed play (whether in person or on TV), I do think that when things shake out in a couple weeks thats what the team is gonna look like.

The winner of the regular season will get COY. Has it ever been any other way?

Who was CoY when we tied for the regular season title in 03-04?

BSC's coach. That was their "thanks for playing" prize.

If Barbour keeps putting up the numbers he has been lately for HP, he should get serious consideration for 2nd team all-conference as well as all-freshman.

I agree with Seth and Ant as all conference picks, but that would be a bit of an anomaly. If the season ends today LU is in third place, but would be the only team with two 1st team picks. I really think that would be a stretch. Who would the voters drop? The pre-seaon conference of the year or the freshman with national press? Maybe there is precedent for it, but that would be unusual.

Not really much of a stretch IMHO, and I'll be very surprised if they "drop" either of them. I don't think the voters care much about the teams record when they vote for all-conference. If you notice, we (ff) have been pretty much unanomous in the first team selections here. There seems to be quite a drop off after those 5. If you wanted to pick a second player from one of the teams ahead of us in the standings, it would be Lynch-flor or Travis Holmes. I doubt if either of them will get more votes than Smitty or Seth (and they shouldn't). The only other possibility I see is Reid Augst, a senior, but his numbers (and quite frankly his talent) don't hold up to Seth or Anthony either.

yeah, it's pretty tough to coach all those upperclassmen against a very young conference.

You could make really good arguments for 3 different coaches, but I won't argue with poppa on this one. Richie was the "homer" pick in my selections. Greenburg coached up these players last year after a horrible start, and they continued to improve this year. I also think he deserves props for bringing in Parakhauski even though he already had the best returning post player in the conference. It's worked out really well to say the least.

Duggar won 20 games at VMI. He will get a ton of votes for COY. Don't pencil in Greeberg just yet. I think he has done a great job but I also think Ritchie McKay has done a great job considering the youth of Liberty. Obviously VMI's late finish is hurting Duggar's chances. When you consider what each coach did with what they had to work with it seems Duggar is the guy. I am a little biased though because I know Duggar but I like Seth a lot too with his ties to Philly, the Sixers, Wizards and St Joes Basketball. He and I had a wonderful time talking about the old days. It is going to be an interesting race.

Art Parakouski has a LOCK on POY though I think.

You know now that I think about it, Radford going 9-0 on the road in conference might be COY worthy.
