again...it's fun to talk about considering we were the bottom not to long ago...I know it holds little weight but I sure rather be where we are right now then back at the bottom!

I know what you mean though...but this is what you do on message boards waiting for another game for us to yap about

Virginia lost to Minnesota, that would drop us a little.

Not that it matters, but after we play Clemson tomorrow, our RPI will jump a lot. They are 2nd in the RPI rankings.

Citadel won by 7. Nobody goes to G's games. And now they've made the genius decision to move all their home games out of the Flem Gym and into ......the Greensboro Coliseum. They'll have dozens of fans.

22-7 would be a great season and would possibly get us an NIT look if we don't win the auto-bid. That loss to Clemson stings considering we were up big with 4 minutes or so left.

It will be interesting to see how VMI continues with teams that see their style of play at least twice a year.

Perhaps I'm being picky here (what's new!?)- but why does KP only have CSU & CCU playing 17 conference games?? [Objection!! ---- Leads to credibility... Sustained]

I don't disagree as a whole in their analysis to this point of projection mind you, except that VMI's gonna be a tough out for anyone in the league & teams with lots of youth (esp us & Winthrop) are unpredictable & typically inconsistent- still a young season with no real conference games to try to predict well, if there's such a thing..

I think a 14-4 record reflects how tough VMI is going to be for Big South opponents, I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect them to finish much better than that. Of course you also have to realize that, due to the nature of their system, they are going to have some bad shooting nights where they shoot less than 30% from three, and as of Dec. 12, in all the years they have run that system, they are 4-17 when shooting under 30% from three range. I imagine that they will shoot under 30% from deep at least twice at a minimum in conference play.

Probably has something to do with CSU and CCU rescheduling their Dec. 6 game for Feb. 26, and maybe the Feb. 26 game isn't showing up on the schedule.

Yep, that would be the reason...that schedule change happened right around the time the season started so I'm sure that he didn't get the memo that the schedule changed.

VMI will not finish .500 in the big south.
Winthrop will.

My 2 cents.

VMI has the potential to be scary good this year. They're playing better now without Reggie than they used to with Reggie. It's the Ewing Effect.

Virginia beat Georgia Tech in Atlanta last night. Their RPI is currently in the top 100 which is rated as a “good win.” With the remainder of their schedule being primarily ACC teams and Xavier (who is top 5 RPI), this will likely finish the season as being a “good win.” Now if only George Mason keeps up their solid season and wins the CAA.

None of that matters unless we win the tournament. Even if we win 20+ games and do not win the tournament...I doubt those "good wins" would be enough for an at-large bid. Our RPI will drop like a rock once Big South play starts.

I agree, it's just nice to actually be able to look at our RPI and see something other than a 3++ number.
