A Sea Of Red

Well the women's team has had a great season, and have only two more games which will be on the road against OHIO STATE. The rankings have come down and we have been invited to the National Tournament in March. However, I regret to inform everyone that the team will not be going to Nationals. The amount of travel this year has cost us a small fortune, along with the cost of building a new team. We cannot make the trip to nationals due to finances, so unfortunately after all this hard work this season, we will not be able to make an appearance to represent LIBERTY at nationals. As it lies the team will end its season with a debt of a few thousand dollars, which dad and I will have to pay off this summer. So as a coach I apologize for letting down all fans we may have. Unfortunately we have no other option, and sometimes tough decisions must be made. Thank you all for continuing to support our team as we near a cross road. I just don't know how much longer My dad and I can financially afford to support the team and continue to not work, It is hard to live life when you don't have a paycheck and the bills keep coming faithfully every month. Please pray for our family and the womens team as we enter into a tough few months with lots of decisions to be made about our future existence. I love this school and everything it stands for I will continue to keep up the good fight as long as I possibly can.

While it is disappointing that you won't be able to head to Nationals (where is that anyway?) the team has certainly served notice to the nation that the program has arrived.

The National Tournament is in Chicago this year. Robert Morris is hosting it.

Coach, I am sorry to hear about the finanical difficulty of keeping the Lady Flame hockey team alive. I hope and pray that there would be someway to keep the team going.

and to those people of influence who LURK on here (you know who you are)- PLEASE FIND A WAY to help these deserving club progams out. If the school absolutely cannot help financially, at least give some sort of direction/guidance/assistance with locating sponsorships.

It is truly a shame to see this kind of effort go unrewarded. PLEASE DO NOT LET THE FATE OF LULAX befall the hockey clubs!
