FGCU would be better served playing the D2 Flames - They are not even practice fodder for our D1 guys.
I would understand if it was an away game
The D2 team was ONE vote short of acceptance into the ACCHL.....
There was room so it was either politics or fear that kept them out.
Looks like another season with an independent schedule but it should be much better

forgive my ignorance- did the DI team find a conf home yet?
and what would the political issue be (other than "jerry-itis") ?

DI is still independent but that is not unusual for highly-ranked teams, for example Penn State is independent.
Not so much :Jerry-itis" as "LU will kick your butt-itis"
Same category as "fear" but a little more LU centric!

From what I understand, when all we had was a D-II team we were in the ACCHL but left after they were about to vote us out for some reason ("continued disciplinary problems" or something like that, personally I think FlameDad's reason is more correct in that category).
Since they, we've gone on to bigger and better things while that leauge has continued to be a doormat (FlameDad correct me if I'm wrong here).

we traded Georgetown for NC State on 11/30, and looks like the first MD contest on 2/22 is now on home ice as well.
