Here are the seeds for the tourney that starts Wednesday in Suburban Youngstown, Ohio:
1 Penn State
2 Ohio
3 Illinois
4 Rhode Island
5 Oklahoma
6 Iowa State
7 Lindenwood
8 Liberty
9 Kent State
10 Oakland
11 West Chester
12 Delaware
13 West Virginia
14 Washington & Jefferson
15 Michigan-Dearborn
16 Robert Morris (PA)
Unfortunately the way the seedings were done, we wind up facing the host Kent State Golden Flashes in the opening round. Although Boardman is decent drive from Kent, the Flashes should have a strong home ice advantage.
Here is our path to the championship:
Wed 7:00pm - #9 Kent State in Opening Round
Thurs 7:00pm - Winner of #1 Penn State/#16 Robert Morris (PA)
Fri 1 or 4:00pm - Semifinal
Sat 4:00pm - Championship
All of these games will be
video streamed.
There is also a consolation game at 8pm Thursday should we be upset by Kent State Wednesday evening.

ACHA sure made it a tough road for the flames, huh. Good luck to the team as they take the ice in Ohio.

The road may not be as tough as it appears... from what i heard all year we suffered in the rankings not because of our ability or talent but due to the fact we did not schedule enough quality d-1 opponents (possible due to our location or status as a first year d1 independent)....Kent St. lost twice as many games as we did and seem very inconsistent with quality opponents--if we beat them penn st. may be a reality as we both played maryland well..enough with the speculation good luck to the boys lets finish strong

wow, there have been some upsets so far tonight. #12 deleware knocked off #5 oklahoma 2-1, #15 michigan dearborn knocked off #2 ohio 3-2 in overtime, #10 oakland knocks off #7 lindenwood 5-4.
Not an upset, but potential good news, #16 Robert Morris took #1 Penn state to overtime, final score 2-1. Is this the same robert morris we swept back in november/december?

I agree, the web cast quality is weak - a bunch of the D2 guys are watching/listening over at East
Is there any way to get a better picture?
Impressive 1st, Flames chase KS goalie w/5 minutes left in the first period.

I'm not sure ... there are two 'Robert Morris' schools ... one in Illinois and the other in Pennsylvania. I believe the latter is the one in this tourney.

yeah i just checked not the same. I went to college last year right next to robert morris (IL), i didnt remember them having a good hockey team, thats why i was at first surprised they might be at nationals. Anyways, still impressive that #16 took #1 to OT

Kent State may be hosting this tourney, but they have practically no fans in the rink.

My stream is starting to break up badly

Liberty just scored again (ziggy) 5-0

6-0 Liberty - the rout is on

McKenzie makes it 6-nothing. This is getting uglier by the minute. I know we are only halfway home but having watched this bad Kent State squad, I can safely call this one.
Penn State should be a great matchup tomorrow at 7pm.
