The final ranking to determine the national championship came out today. Liberty secured a bid by remaining at #8 in the the poll. Later today the brackets are supposed to come out. D1 is different in their playoffs then D2. No pool play, brackets are used, just like the NCAA bball tourney. Winners move on, losers play in consolation brackets to determine final ranking spots in March. Unless the seeds change because of automatic bids, Liberty is slated to play the host team, Kent State in the 8-9 game, with the winner most likely facing Penn State who retook the #1 spot from Illinois

Side note: speaking of the ACHA and the rankings, I checked out the site to check them out and it seems like the ACHA and some of it's member teams have lost several of their own...condolences and prayers to the families.

Brent passed while courageously battling cancer on Friday, January 26.

Brent grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where he started out his hockey career with the Arizona Sports Ranch Thunder roller hockey travel team. After moving to Huntsville, AL, Coach Ullom started his ice hockey career with the Huntsville Travel East team
