we need a second on the motion, then any discussion on dispersment of said mask (D1, D1 backup, D2, etc)
motion is now open on the floor.

or if you have no idea to what I am referring:
PART 1
flameshaw wrote:jimflamesfan wrote:Do any of the goalies have painting on their helmets yet, or are they still white?
I was at a store in Richmond the other day that paints graphics onto all kinds of stuff...and I asked them if they could do a goalie mask...and the guy pointed and said, like that...and on the shelf there was this totally awesome goalie mask.
I said, how much would that cost. He was like $125 for that...but it can vary depending on the design...
A while back when I was in PA, there was a booth at the mall that airbrushed things like licenses and stuff like that. They would do a mask for $75 I think...
You would think with all of the members we have on this board that someone would know someone capable of giving the LU goalies a deal on helmet painting.
OK, back on topic. My sister and brother-in-law both went to IUP. I played highschool hockey with some kids that played at IUP...they've got a good program...seems like we're developing a rivalry with them...it would be nice to win both!
If it is $125 I will pay for one mask.
PART 2
jimflamesfan wrote:flameshaw, it is a store in the Chesterfield Town Center in Richmond. The owner wrote his number and email for me on a piece of paper...I will have to find it.
I will volunteer to put in and drive the mask to Chesterfield and pick it up when it's done. Also, Flameshaw, do you want to design it, or do you want to have people submit suggestions...then you could pick the best design. We could start a new thread.
The third question would be...do we want to do this for the starting golie of the D1 team, and ask him if he wants it done to his helmet...or do we want to donate a helmet courtsey of Flamefans...flameshaw's got the painting covered...I'd donate some $ towards the helmet if we want to go that way...but I'll need some others to donate as well...
If we could get enough people to donate, we could give 2 helmets to the hockey program...one for the D-1 and one for the D-2, and we could give them directly to the program to give to the starting golies...
Any suggestions...I've got to look for that phone # and email.
Jim.

OK...here is some other information...
The place that can paint the hockey mask for $125 is Fresh Air Studios at the Chesterfield town Center in Richmond Virginia.
Flameshaw suggested he would donate the $125 to get one painted.
Now the problem is...who's mask do we get painted, since there is more than one goalie on the D1 team.
My suggestion is that we purchase a mask and get it painted. That way we could just present it to the team, and the goalie that starts could wear it. A decent mask will cost $200. I'm willing to give $50 for this...and I'll talk to some friends to see if they'll donate.
But before we put the cart in front of the horse...how about I email the coach about what we want to do, and see if the team would be interested in it...then we will have more options.
I'm open to suggestions...and feel free to post helmet design ideas!
hmmmmm

ohhhhhkay. now what?
and where's DALTON to weigh in on this?

If they already have them painted...then I guess this was much ado about nothing. I was pretty sure last year at the game I saw, the goalie had just a plain white or blue mask.

don't lose faith- I'm betting ONE of those guys wants a new mask.
we just gotta find which one

I sent an email to the hockey team's contact person (not coach Handy, but some A.E. Haygood)...and asked which goalies that they had would be interested in getting their masks painted. I'll post the reply when I get it.

I know Mike has 3 masks his last one is just getting painted....I have a mask that is painted but it got broke on the inside....still very much wearable....on the D2 team SMyth just a nice paint job and Rhett like's his old school mask
I'm sure any of us would love to have a new mask....who wouldn't....especially one with a cool paint job specifically for our team

Good to see ya again bro - understandable that you've been a bit busy lately
what a great season so far!
to all: sounds to me like the guy with the broken mask deserves a new one. It's up to the money man, but does anyone else have an opinion?

I agree with PAmedic...
If Flameshaw is still up to pay $125 for the paintjob, then I'm still willing to put $50 towards a helmet...but we'd about 3 more people to give some $ to be able to buy the helmet, then get the paint job...which we would also have to decide on the design. Any suggestions??

It's all that persuading you've been doing with Dr. Bell to get our Sport Psych class moved to the hockey game.
Unfortunately, I don't think it worked.
I'll still be there probably.

OK...let me see if I can get some friends to go together with me on the helmet. I'll PM you when I've bought it, and we'll go from there...also, I've got to see if I can upload some blank goalie mask images so people can start using photoshop or whatever to express their ideas as to how it should be painted.
If anyone else from flamefans wants to go in on the helmet purchase itself...respond in this thread...we'll use paypal that way there's accountability for the $ towards the helmet.
(i.e. Flameshaw has the $125 for painting...the helmet will be around $200...I'll give $50...so we've got to raise $150...I think I can raise some from a couple of friends, but I don't know how much).
We're almost there!

Is size 7 1/8 to 7 5/8 okay, or do you need bigger?
