Davenport and Oakland

Liberty finished 2-1 on their three game trip to Michigan this week, defeating Davenport 5-3 to conclude the Blue and Gray Cup series 2-1 in favor of the Panthers. Liberty got goals from Rick Turner, Luke Baumgarten, Bram Erickson, and a pair "Captain" Andrew McCombe.
Liberty, which came into this weekend ranked #12 in the ACHA (and in a tenuous position for nationals) then headed to Oakland Michigan to face the Golden Grizzlies. Liberty kept the offense going with a 5-1 win on Friday night, getting goals from Baumgarten, Turner (who scored a pair) Bram Erickson and B.J. Pirus. The Grizzlies did forge a home split, taking the second game of the weekend 7-3 in a very physical matchup. In the loss, Liberty got goals from Turner, McCombe and Ryley Egan
Liberty is now 12-10 on the year and will close the 2012 portion of the schedule with a makeup of the postponed doubleheader against Stony Brook December 7-8 at the LaHaye Ice Center.
