LU hockey has had a solid year so far going into the winter break for all of it's teams.
DI is 18-2 overall and ranked #4 nationally. The Flames are led by Brent Boschman with 21 goals and 19 assists, Kyle Dodgson with 19 goals and 25 assists, Dave Semenyna with 17 goals and 23 assists, and Jonathan Chung with 20 goals and 18 assists. Between the pipes Brad Whittingstall has been spectacular with a 1.87 GAA. The Flames swing back into action Jnauary 8-9 at Towson a team they have already beaten twice this season.
D2 is 9-2 overall and ranked #9 in the Southeast Region. LU is lead by Brad Docksteader with 10 goals and 13 assists, Jordan Singor with 13 goals and 8 assists, and Scott Morongell with 6 goals and 14 assists. John Hyland had done well in goal sporting a 3.11 GAA. The Flames will return to the ice January 8-10 as they play Life University at Lahaye, a team they beat on the road in the early season. Faceoff is set for 9:15 pm on the 8th, 4:45 pm on the 9th, and 9:00 am on the 10th.
D3 is 4-4 overall in their first season of play. The Flames are led by Rob Niemi with 7 goals and 12 asssits, Neal Henderson with 8 goals and six assists, Ryan Wood with 8 goals and 3 assists, and Greg Heyward with 2 goals and 9 assists. The D3 boys will not return to the ice until January 23 when they will play Applalachain State at Lahaye starting at 10pm.
DI LADIES are 9-5-1 overall and ranked #2 in the East Region and #5 nationally. Carly Peleshok is leading the way for the Flames with 19 goals and 14 assists. Laura Del Monte has 10 goals and 11 assists, and Kristin Frescura had 13 goals and seven assists. The Lady Flames will return to home ice January 14-15 against UMass with 9:00pm and 3:45 pm starting times.
Congrats to all the Coaches and Players for an outstanding season thus far and to the Lahaye staff for making the the Ice Center such a great place to watch hockey. GO FLAMES!!
