I plan on being at the LU vs Univ of Delaware game both Friday and Saturday in Newark since I live nearby. Is there anyone else going so that I can meet some of you. I think that we are due for some wins. We split with them earlier in Lynchburg and I see no reason that we can't win at least one of the games. I will report back on here how we do.[/b]

I'll email my LU alumni cousins who live in Newark and check their availability.

Thanks Sly. Tell them to look for a tall goofy looking guy wearing a purple LSU sweatshirt.

I might be stopping by, being not only an alum of LU, but one who transferred from UD. About an
hour drive for me from Del. Co, PA to Newark.

I circled this one on the calendar to attend but alas family issues will have me out of town.

LU loses a heartbreaker to Delaware 3-2. All goals were powerplay goals. LU seemed to have more opportunities especially at the end and blew a one on one penalty shot with seconds remaining. I was impressed with the overall play but I don't know hockey enough to critique them that much but I can tell you I was surprised by the speed and toughness that both teams had. I would say that we had the edge in overall talent but too many blown opportunities and too many penalties maybe the result of home cooking on the refs part. Good showing of former LU students and looking forward to tomorrows action.

LU wins in OT 2-1. Very exciting win with 2 very evenly matched teams. Our goalie played superb with some nice saves and one squeezed by him with 2 minutes to go in regulation to tie it up. But we got the breakaway goal to win it. Our first goal was shorthanded as we scored on the breakaway. I was very impressed with our play the last 2 games against a very good Delaware team.

I spoke with a LU alumnus at the first game who also an avid LU hockey fan and he told me that a number of LU players got kicked off of the team after Christmas break due to misconduct and grades and some were key guys. Is that rumor true? That could explain the struggles. Even then Delaware was ranked 4th in the country and we split the season series 2-2. Not too shabby!

Yes, We lost Rob Vanwynsberghe, who was our leading scorer, John Langabeer because of grades(and a big scorer), Chris Tuttle left and Eric Reynolds has a broken finger.

The first series, I don't think he did. I'm pretty sure he played in the games after the January 1.
