I wish they could've pushed the start time back to 8 or 8:30 for Friday. The volleyball match is at 7 and I hate to choose, but if I have to, a scholarship sport is going to get my support before a club sport.

I hope to work it as a doubleheader as the ladies sweep and then we move over to the rink.

Super Jon,

I understand your struggle, but think your reasoning is flawed. Support Scholarship sports... YES, PLEASE DO! Support CLUB sports...YES PLEASE DO. But to say that you will choose one sport over another because one gets scholarships and one does not is pretty dumb. I know it was probably just a quick slip of the tongue, but remember, just a few days ago, our "Club Hockey Team" beat a "Pro hockey team", that was filled up of former athletes (mostly NCAA) who were on "Scholarships".

SuperJon,
You truly are an awesome guy (I have no clue of who you are, but you were the 2007 fan of the year...so come on...your sweet) but start to show a little bit more love to LU Hockey. LOL...and don't worry, I don't play for the team, but am a SUPERFAN of them!

Game One- LU 5 SB 2
Game Two LU 6 SB 1

I come to as many games as I can, but I'm sorry to say I'm going to support the officially sanctioned NCAA scholarship sports before I support a club sport.

no worries for the hockey team - they will draw 1000 more fans than volleyball....

This was copy and pasted from Stony Brooks web-site, just wondering what everyone thinks about this

"Despite losses to the 4th ranked Liberty University Flames this past weekend, the Seawolves had a strong showing. Playing in front of a packed house of 500 screaming Seawolves fans on Saturday, Angelo Serse (#8) scored 2 goals and Tom Pacifico (#44) had a goal as the Seawolves fell short 6-3 to the Flames. The stands were packed with fans and the energy was up. The Flames came back again Sunday morning in front of 150 fans. Again, Serse and Pacifico sinked the biscuit but the Seawolves fell short again 6-2. “Sundays game was a tough loss” says GM Chris Garofalo. “This was Liberty’s 5th and 6th game of the season. They are a good hockey team. This was the first 2 games of our season, so there is something to be said for that” he added. But the losses aren’t stopping us from taking on Liberty again. “We will beat them next time, no doubt” says Defenseman Colin Brunstead. “We know their game, and we look forward to traveling down to Virginia later this month to show them how resilient we are.”

Yeah bring them on. They will play in front of a very hostile crowd and our attendance will be double or more than what they played in when they were on their own ice. Lahaye will be rockin this weekend!

Wait until we have a 2 goal lead. If you chant it and they are still in the game, it makes him look like he was right. If you chant it after we are solidly handling them, it makes him look like an even bigger moron!

Thanks for the help Luke. It is pretty for me to look and sound like a moron.

Hey for whoever made a comment about Hockey getting a thousand more fans than Volleyball, I highley doubt that , cause Volleyball has over 1200 fans at all its home matches this year, I love LU Hockey but I def know for sure that Volleyball will always have more people than a hockey game.

Perhaps you haven't been to the last 3 games that I have. There was 2650 at the Richmond game and probably close to the 1200 number if you go to the Friday night game.

that would be me

just trying to make a point using exaggeration that the men's DI hockey games are well attended and very exciting.

I am suprised that our excellent volleyball team doesn't draw more than 1200 fans.
Are the games held at night?

BTW - LeHaye holds 3000+ (packed w/standing) Games against rivals frequently fill the joint (students PAY to see the hockey team)

One of the worse officiated games I have ever seen. This crew looked like they belonged doing men's league, not college hockey. How the ref has an NCAA patch is beyond me. Not blaming the officials for the loss but it was not called well at all. If I were coach, definitely would talk to the board of officials about these jokers. Good luck tonight guys.
