I wondered why they didn't put more seats in it when first built. Oh well, looks like we'll have them now anyways.

I believe the orginal issue w/ seating was over parking capacity and/or permitting- typically zoning codes and ordinances can make this type of thing a pain.

Sometimes its easier to do in stages and add them later.

would be nice to see a seating chart developed and put online like they do w/ Vines and Williams. I'm sure its in the works

That's cool; I look forward to seeing the team move up to Division 1 NCAA Hockey in a few years, so I can root for them against the perennial powers. Does anyone know if the athletic department has taken care as best they can to schedule the basketball home games and hockey home games on alternate nights/times so they maximize the ticket sales and not take sales away from each by competing with each other. With the hockey, if they staggered the home games so they didn't overlap with basketball, the fall and winter would be a buffet of sporting events to avoid the boredom spell.

The athletic department has nothing to do with the hockey schedule, as hockey is currently a club sport. I'm sure when it steps up to NCAA DI the athletic department will do its best to prevent overlapping.

With the high being 98 tomorrow, the ice center might be a good place to go.

there is actually talk of moving start times that conflict with womens basketball, so fans can see both events. GMTM, can fill you in with details from his meeting with the hockey group.

As mentioned above, the AD Department has nothing to do with the Hockey Schedule... Coach Handy is very aware of having games at the same time as basketball and will do everything in his power to have it where you can just go from game to game..... Which will help bring up everybody's ticket sales....Coach Handy really has this thing going in the right direction!!!

Ita ctually hotter in Lynchburg than Houston today. Its a common misconception that it gets above 100 degrees here in Houston. It rarely if ever happens. It just stays in the 90s here from April to October. Its not an endless summer, but its not far from it.

Just got done talking to coach and they did not have to shut down the arena, nor did they have to remove any glass. Those should be done by this weekend and the top ones will be done next week...

you can run back and forth- fetching food and drink for me. That will be enough exercise for you.

Those seats will be a lot like Shilling... if our crowd gets rowdy and gets some foot-stompin' going on... it will definately be LOUD!
