The Liberty Flames hockey team opens the 2012-13 season Friday night as they play host to the Hampton Jr. A Whalers in a pair of exhibition games. Puck drop for the first game is 7 PM Friday night. Live video will be available through the Club Sports website. Saturday's game is set for 3 PM so as not to conflict with the home football opener vs. Norfolk State.

Liberty gets the sweep with a 9-3 win on Saturday afternoon. Rick Turner finished with a hat trick and seven different Flames scored a goal on the night.

Liberty will host the Atlanta Jr. A Knights in a doubleheader this Friday and Saturday. Game time for both is 7 PM
