I said this on another thread but check the highlights. The kid looks like his strength is his vision. He looks faster than the other kids but he gets north and south at the right times.

Vida Blue is the answer to my all time favorite sports trivia question that even stumped TF and Ballcoach. And in 17 years of Quiz Bowl coaching, I've never had player get it right.

That's it (thank you, Google). I once gave my Quiz Bowl captain 2 hints:
1. year was 1971
2. team was the Oakland A's

My captain named every position player from the A's team in 1971, but he still missed it, since Vida was a pitcher!

Still mad at Bowie Kuhn for vetoing his move to the Big Red Machine.

Gene Tenace was from my hometown growing up (along with Al Oliver) and his days facing the Reds were intense in our community.

Al Oliver is a name I haven't heard for a while. Let's go Bucs!
