Trent Dilfer isn’t surprised that college football fans don’t know much about his quarterback at Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tenn.

Hank Brown is a three-star recruit, after all. He doesn’t have a 247Sports Composite ranking (though 247’s evaluators rate him as the No. 49 QB nationally). And even though he’ll be a senior in the fall, he still hasn’t started a game for Lipscomb after serving as the backup to Cincinnati signee Luther Richesson in 2021.

His HS coach just became the head coach at UAB

And he just decommitted.

Quite the bummer, but that room will still be well stocked between Salter/JB/Hampton/Reese pending any mass exodus. Perhaps the silver lining is that will give Chadwell some room to find a system guy in the next class.

I will be shocked if he does not end up at UAB.

I would not be if it's Auburn. Anywhere else?

We have incomplete information. Moreover, we have no idea as to what our current staff thinks about this guy or any of the other QBs. May or may not have been a good fit for us. Who knows?

I wonder if Freeze really believes Hank Brown is Auburn caliber.

It'll be interesting if Brown commits to see if he sniffs the field at all.

Edit: that wasn't meant as disrespect to Brown. Watched his highlights and he looks amazing. I just don't think the Auburn faithful are excited for a 3 star QB formerly committed to Liberty, and with all the talk of big-time transfers I wonder if he will get a legit shot at playing regardless of his quality.

Former Freeze-era Liberty QB commit is taking over as QB1 at Auburn tomorrow: https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... hank-brown

Auburn finished #125th-ish in passing last year and looked dismal against Cal last week.

I’m super interested to see how he does. Wish him the best.

4 TDs and a QBR of 76.5 on his debut isn’t bad. He did play against New Mexico so we will see how he does against stiffer competition.

I may be one of the rare ones that’s still rooting for Freeze, Hank Brown, and CJ Daniel’s, etc. It’s easier to watch Brown when we still have Salter though.

Hank only had 72 yards passing and 3 INTs yesterday before being pulled in Auburn’s loss. Freeze’s seat has got to be getting a little warm at Auburn.

Before I resort to pettiness I'll say this. I think both LU and HF had a mutually beneficial time together and the time was right for both to move on.

However, with how the last year went here with HCHF, it's hard for a part of me to not find this a little satisfying.

I heard about this but didn’t read it until you posted it. That’s pretty brutal. Hard for me to tell why he’s so upset. Sure Freeze rotates QBs when they aren’t playing well but I think most know that’s a possibility.

It feels like there is more to unpack there.

During an interview freeze basically said he needs to find a qb that won't throw the ball to the other team after his top 2 qbs combined for 4 interceptions last week. I assume this is some backlash from that. Twitter mob is gonna do their thing everytime.
