seem to have "happy feet". On the other hand, is the read option as viable with him?
The RPO is more about the RB than the QB. It's all coverage based. The QB assess where the coverage is and if the success rate would be higher with a run or pass post snap. It really doesn't rely on running QBs at all.

Dalegarz1 wrote: August 15th, 2020, 4:08 pm While that's true of classic RPO's, there are designed reads for the running game-namely to give to the running back or to keep it yourself. It's a version of the triple option without the pitch.
Who made the RPO popular?
I think the consensus is that Rich Rod probably had more to do with it than anyone.

You don't get offers from Marshall and 2 SEC schools unless you are really good. :fbplayer

Definitely a good get...and at 6'6" he reminds me of Big Ben with his height and skill set.

A couple things that distinguish the triple option (especially the way guys like Paul Johnson and the other service academies ran it) and the "zone read/RPO style" option

1. Triple option, especially the way schools like Navy and Georgia Tech (where Paul Johnson retired from after Navy) play it, runs out of a double wings formation with the fullback behind the quarterback. Zone read runs out of pistol or even full shotgun
2. Zone read/RPO the primary read is the backside defensive end. When the QB makes that initial read at the mesh with the RB whether in pistol or single back shotgun, he has basically two options, run (via the give or the keep) or pass. With the triple option you actually have 4 potential reads from three options: Either give to the fullback on the dive, pitch to the wingback, keep with the QB or pass.
3. WIth the zone read/RPO, there is the singular point of deception to the defense and that is at the QB/RB mesh. With the triple option, you can deceive the defense at the dive mesh with the fullback, you can run counter option flowing the play one direction then pitching or handing off to the other with the wingbacks, or via the QB dropping back to pass instead of taking the corner on the option run.

Davie County Enterprise Record wrote:Quarterback skipping high school season; early enrolling at Liberty

The coronavirus has ravaged the United States and wreaked all kinds of havoc on the sports world.

COVID-19’s impact hit close to home two weeks ago, when Davie’s 2021 football team lost its quarterback.

Nate Hampton had a decision to make: Stick around for his senior season in February/March/April or graduate from Davie in December and early enroll at Liberty University, which was the plan all along. He reconsidered his early-enroll plans after the season was pushed from fall to winter/spring. Early enrolling happens every year for Division-I football recruits. It’s never caused anxiety and bittersweet feelings because high school football, duh, is always played in the fall – except for 2020, when it often feels like we’re living in a Twilight Zone episode.
