With the wideouts getting bigger (hello AGG) having DBs that can measure up is important but they need to be athletic to be able to help in run support but also, of course, defend WRs and TEs as well. He definitely could be a good safety for us

Buck gave him a retweet and he plays in Carol City's district.

It looks like he'd be better off red shirting, gaining more muscle, and converting to LB. Comes up strong to tackle, but lacks the speed to be on an island covering division 1 WR's

Love having players with length on defense, regardless of position.

And your evaluation of his speed, or lack thereof, is based on what? Please don't say the video. Highlights never show defects like that. That's why they aren't called lowlights.

If he is excelling playing CB in Miami, he most likely is fast enough to be a DB on the G5 level. Safety if not CB. This kid would need to put on 50 pounds to be a LB.

Jacob Hagan 2.0, guess we will have to wait and see. Again, getting these 2 star kids like we are is a good thing. Out of our 13 commitments 9 are rated. And boys, more are coming.

Anyone have a 24/7 esq breakdown of how many of each rating we've had in the past?

Perhaps the most impressive thing on this kids resume is the offer from Rutgers. Not sure if we have ever landed a player with an offer from a B1G school.

I was thinking the same thing on hagen not just because hes a white db but he seems to have a knack for the ball which was what made hagen so good. Hagen didnt appear to be lightning fast either but he was always around the ball and he developed better ball skills as he got older. Very sure tackler as well. I like him at safety. Could see him pairing with aaron pierre in the future.

You left DJ Stubbs off the 2017 class. I believe he was also a 3 star.

Stubbs and Best for the 2017 class right?

That is a pretty sharp uptick in the 2* field. Looks like the "floor" of out talent pool is decidedly higher.

They just dropped 3 stars on Hunter Goetz on 247 sports!!That brings our total up 6 or 7(depending on if Cater's 3 stars are legit)

I think 24/7 is having computer issues. Lynum, Goetz, and Lewis are all exactly the same at .8004. That's unusual to say the least.

It could be, but Lewis has been .8004 for the entire season and since Goetz and Lynum just moved up to 3 stars it could be that .8004 is right there at the lowest 3 star rating possible. Guess we will see as the day goes on. Good eye brother.

I think having an offer from Rutgers and FAU gives me confidence that he can cover receivers/TE from the safety position. Coach Bill will have him ready by game 1.
