I think we run a lot of people off. Somtimes you can tell folks start posting just to stir up trouble. They deserve the flogging that we give them. But I think we've had some legitimate posters that have chimed in with first time posts and we jump at the chance to tell that that they're stupid if we disagree and make them feel bad about posting here. Why is that? Just messageboard mentality?




We need some new blood around here or it's going to start to be exclusive. More so than it already is.

I agree....I know of several people who won't post on here because they think everybody is a bunch of jerks...and we really are jerks..haha

I don't mind posters on here disagreeing with me but rude behavior and name called (like getting called an idiot or stupid) is uncalled for and the worst thing about it all this all takes place on a website affiliated with a Christian university. Quite a few of these new posters have legitimate points and I can see that but a select few get too personally involved and feel they are entitled to insult the newcomers just because they are actively involved and feel like they are always right and the newby's are always wrong and there opinion isn't important. My posting time on this site has been cutback substantially due to all of the rude behavior of a select few and unfortunately, before they arrived on here things were great. But it only take a few bad apples to spoil the whole bunch. Hopefully things will get better in the future with the turnover in students and those who post here.

Don't beat around it. Just say you don't like me. I'm ok with it. It's not going to change how I do things when someone says something completely idiotic though.

I'm all for the discourse but I agree that we have developed a rather harsh mentality not only on newbies but just about everyone lately. This place is starting to have a bitter taste to it that I really hope we lose. I know summertime tends to be more argumentative without anything really to talk about until football camp starts. But that doesn't mean we can't make our opinions known without belittling everyone else. Let the chips fall where they may once you make your points.
