Alejandro Zapata broke, correction, smashed! the conference record in the 400M with a time of 44.86. That beat the old record by 0.73 seconds. The world record is 43.03 seconds. I'm no T&F expert but that's gotta be approaching a world class time. Congrats to Alejandro!

Zapata also won the 200m. That 400m time is probably not "world class", but it is getting there. He was a member of Brazil's 4x400 relay team which made the Olympic finals in 2016.

Future looks bright for both men and women. We have a FR sprinter, Ty'Asia Dansbury, who won both the women's 100 and 200 meter sprints as well as a FR who won the women's shot put and broke the BSC record.
