Men's Day One Recap
Fulton spearheaded a strong effort by the Liberty men's hammer throwers during Friday's final event, which wrapped up as darkness was quickly taking over the Campus East throwing facility. The reigning Big South Men's Field Athlete of the Week recorded the four longest throws of the competition, including his winning and Big South-leading toss of 193-0 in round three. Fulton now ranks No. 5 on Liberty's all-time hammer list, overtaking assistant coach Clendon Henderson by four inches on Friday.

Teammate David Scouten followed in second place with a mark of 180-2 that eclipsed his previous season best by 12 and a half feet.

Sophomore Trevor VanAsselt made the biggest breakthrough of the day, however, stretching the tape to 174-8 on his sixth and final attempt. The throw, which placed him fourth, was 13 and a half feet longer than VanAsselt's personal best entering Friday's competition. It was also a marked improvement over his 131-7 effort at the 2014 Liberty Collegiate Invitational as a freshman.

Davis and the rest of the decathletes benefitted from gusty tailwinds out of the southwest during Friday's first two events and kept rolling from there. Davis finished Friday's quintet of events with 3,832 points, taking a 122-point lead into Saturday. It was just 68 points shy of the best-ever day one score by a Liberty decathlete, Brandon Hoskins' 3,900 points to start off the 2008 Texas Relays.

Davis achieved new personal bests in four of Friday's five disciplines, including the 100 (11.47), long jump (23-10.25), shot put (44-5.5) and 400 (53.22), while high jumping a season-best 6-7.5. Davis' long jump effort was the longest ever by a Liberty decathlete, eclipsing James Johnson's 23-9.75 leap on April 6, 2000.

Tevan McIntire follows in second place after fashioning a strong first day of his own with 3,710 points. The redshirt senior set personal bests in the 100 (11.16), long jump (22-5) and 400 (51.91), while clearing a season-best 6-4 in the high jump.

Redshirt freshman Lewis Williams ranks third with 3,057 points. His day was highlighted by a second-place finish in the 100, with a personal-best 11.28 clocking.

Zach Gilroy's point total of 3,023 has the sophomore currently in fifth place. He sped to a personal-best 100 dash time of 12.18 seconds and high jumped a season-best 6-1.5.

Liberty student Charles Sealy, competing unattached, was a surprise winner of the men's javelin competition, thanks to a 204-11 heave.

Jessica Harrison is currently seventh in the heptathlon with 2,462 points, aided by an outdoor personal-best shot put of 37-1.75.

The Liberty Collegiate Invitational will conclude with a full day of action on Saturday, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault and heptathlon long jump. The men's 4 x 100 relay will get the day's running events started at 12:30 p.m.

Men's Day Three Recap
After winning the men's hammer (193-0) on Friday, Fulton completed a most impressive home outdoor debut in a Liberty uniform with shot put (56-1.75) and discus (180-2) crowns on Saturday.

Fulton's 180-2 discus mark, which came on his sixth and final attempt, won the event title by more than 20 feet. It moves the redshirt junior up to No. 3 in both Liberty and Big South history, as it was the top effort by a conference men's discus thrower in six years.

David Scouten (season-best 159-7) and Tim Abbott (151-4) finished second and fourth, respectively, in the men's discus.

Fulton also pulled out a much tighter shot put victory, with his winning throw of 56-1.75 edging Monmouth's Taylor Bernstein by 1.75 inches. Scouten added a fourth-place showing, thanks to a season-best toss of 51-9.25.

Davis repeated as Liberty Collegiate Invitational decathlon champion, but his winning score of 7,049 far exceeded his point total of 6,387 from 2014. Davis becomes the first Flame to crack the 7,000-point barrier since Geren Woodbridge in 2011.

Not to be completely overshadowed, Tevan McIntire also made a big decathlon breakthrough this weekend, pushing his personal best from 6,411 up to 6,903. The redshirt senior from Colorado placed second behind Davis, after notching the competition's top 110 hurdles time (15.32) and equaling his best outdoor pole vault height of 13-3.5.

Zach Gilroy made it a 1-2-3 Liberty sweep of the decathlon, with his personal-best score of 6,026. On Saturday, the sophomore hit personal bests in both throwing events (105-11 in the discus and 143-10 in the javelin) while finishing first among the decathletes in the pole vault (14-7.25) and 1,500 (4:46.15).

Liberty was also dominant atop the men's 400 standings, taking each of the first five spots. Racanelli led the way in 48.95 seconds, followed by Ryan Davis (49.22), John Sherret (49.62), Jeff Jacobs (50.45) and Levi Mack (50.60).

Racanelli was part of both Liberty men's relay teams which finished first, beginning with the 4 x 100 in 42.42 seconds. The Flames' fourth straight Liberty Collegiate Invitational 4 x 100 crown was achieved by Joey Imhoff, Racanelli, Marquis Gilchrist and Jacobs).

Ryan Davis, Ryan Versen, Jacobs and Racanelli later put an exclamation point on the meet by winning the 4 x 400 crown in 3:24.80.

Ken Ritchey was Liberty's final event champion, successfully defending his men's pole vault title from 2014 by clearing 15-11. Carson Waters (15-5) and Alex Geniesse (14-5.25) came in second and third, respectively.

Liberty freshmen Jeremy Miekley (4:01.66) and Louis Paone (4:02.66) were the top two collegiate finishers in the men's 1,500, trailing only Isaac Wendland (4:00.16), an NCAA national qualifier in the event during his time with the Flames.

Aklesso Agama needed only one triple jump attempt to grab second place (49-5.75). The sophomore also came in fourth in the long jump at 23-0.

Additional Liberty third-place finishes came in the 110 hurdles (Blake Kohring, 15.50), 400 hurdles (Versen, season-best 54.91) and high jump (Kyle Wheeler (6-4.25).

Imhoff (100, 11.08), Racanelli (200, 22.58) and Christopher Crowder (800, personal-best 1:56.75) each placed fourth in their events on Saturday.

Flower is no stranger to winning events at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational, as the senior took first place in the women's 100 for the third straight year and earned her fourth consecutive 200 title.

In the 100, Flower's winning time was 12.03. She was followed by sister Kate Flower in third (12.40) and Enajah Winbush in fourth place (12.45).

Flower's 200-meter victory came by more than half a second in a time of 24.73 seconds. Kate Flower was the runner-up in a season-best time of 25.26, while Rajon Stinnett-Perry earned fourth place with a season-best 25.40 effort into a headwind.

The Flower sisters teamed up with Olivia Davis and Dana Mercer to capture the 4 x 100 relay title in 47.09.

Behymer and Bedell then toted the baton for the first two legs of the Lady Flames' winning 4 x 400 relay team. Mary Witmer and Ansley Gebben finished off the victory in a time of 3:52.58.

Jacy Christiansen held off former teammate and 5-time Big South 800-meter champion Meghan (Burggraf) Cornfield to win the 800 in a personal-best time of 2:15.26. Megan Versen added a fourth-place showing at 2:21.25.

After winning the heptathlon at the 2014 Liberty Collegiate Invitational, Audrey Bamford came in second this time around. Her score of 4,506 was her best in a Lady Flames uniform and moves her up to No. 9 on Liberty's all-time list. On Saturday, Bamford recorded the best long jump mark among the heptathletes (17-0) and threw the javelin a personal-best 97-10.

The Lady Flames collected runner-up finishes in both of the horizontal jumps, thanks to Mercer's 18-5.25 long jump and Janae Jones' 38-7.5 triple jump.

Gebben was the 400 hurdles runner-up in 1:01.70, while Alyssa Karle came in second with a personal-best steeplechase effort of 11:57.35.
