Wilkes-Barre Times Leader wrote:WOODRIDGE VERSATILE – Sophomore Galen Woodbridge is ready for another solid season with the Liberty University men’s track team. Woodbridge, from Wilkes-Barre, competes in the heptathlon indoors and the decathlon outdoors. He also competes in the pole vault.

Woodbridge opened this indoor season with a personal record score of 4,763 in the Liberty Opener in the heptathlon. He captured the pole vault and finished second in the shot put and finish third behind two teammates in the event.

“We expect Galen to be all-conference in the heptathlon and place in the pole vault in the Big South,” coach Brant Tolsma said. “He should also be a contender at the IC4A in the hep indoors and the decathlon outdoors.”

Tolsma likes Woodridge’s determination.

“Galen is a focused athlete who is progressing steadily,” the coach said. “He’s definitely the kind of student-athlete we like to have at Liberty.”

Woodridge and the Flames will be back in action in the Liberty Open this Saturday in Lynchburg, Va.
