Liberty football season ticket ads may be seen on various TV channels, such as ABC 13 WSET, as well as cable channels including BET, Discovery, ESPN, ESPN2, Fox News, FX, Lifetime and Nickelodeon. Liberty also has an ad running on Comcast Spotlight as a cable sponsor of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Over 1,500 spots will be seen locally during the next three weeks. You may view the various television ads by clicking the video links above.

The ads are generated to attract new season ticket holders, as well as those who need to be reminded to renew their seats from last year. Season ticket sales for the 2008 campaign have already passed 1,100, a mark which is twice as many as were sold at this time last year. Sales are on track to set another record for total season tickets, which would mark the third year in a row.

The NBC spot is neat. Of the TV spots, #'s 1 and 2 have too much (the Unfinished Business logo, the ticket office #, etc.) jammed onto the screen. Can't even see clearly what's going on in background. The 3rd one is good.

I have to choose my words very carefully, but these videos were not good at all.

In the first video, the split screen stuff on the left was all footage from 2006.

In the second video, the "Unfinished Business" logo is in the way. If they would've taken out the white background around it then it would've looked much better.

Videos like this don't generate sales. There are people on this campus that are immensely talented in doing video work that I'm sure would be glad to help out if asked.

That's all I'm saying. I may get in trouble for even saying that much.

I second that...that is the one thing that really needs improvement is the tv ads...it seems every year they are the same quality and never get better...they aren't horrible...but like you said SJ, with the talent on this campus, they could be so much better

I'm not saying anything based on the chances that somebody on here was involved in these productions.

Other good ones:

Some of these had new stuff filmed, but a lot of them were just with highlights and maybe a voice over.

So in other words you don't think they're great but you don't want to hurt someone's feelings.

I could be wrong, but I'm not certain that the top resources were available for LU's TV spots. I like the ones SJ listed, especially the NDSU one with their coach. (Can you all see Rocco doing that? I think he'd be great!) I'm just not sure enough time was alotted to production.

I agree with you guys. The videos are okay but if they wanted to generate more excitement, they could have done a better job. Is it me or is it getting harder for anyone else to contain their excitement ? :D

I think the big downfall of the videos is the music. It's plain not a good choice. These videos should get you fired up for the season. They don't do that for me.

I don't know...the production quality was comparable to anything else...maybe a bit "busy". I think what ruined it for me was the voice. It didn't seem to match the feel of the ad. We're suppossed to be going for excitement. I think these ads are going after the intellectual audience...we don't want to scare them too much.

Just to make sure we are clear - they were not a Prototype Production:)

I know they did them in house - maybe LBN???

They may be bad, but no one said they were that bad. :D
