After losing Sene, Pinigis, and Ausberry many of us thought this would be one of the biggest question marks going into the season. However, the coaching staff doesn’t think that’s the case anymore after spring ball. The 5 projected starters have been in the program for several years now and are very experienced themselves. Weaver started 2 games last year in place of Pinigis and the others have either started or seen significant playing time in the past 2-3 years. There is a lot of youth behind the starters vying for playing time including Alabama transfer Alex Stadler. The 2 true freshman on the roster (Lundy and Sellman) are expected to redshirt.

From Chris in his Flames Notes ...

He will be missed. The first five have not been able to pound the ball down the throat of these two DII teams. Except at the beginning of the second half, first drive this weekend when Coach Wach refused to pass the ball and prove his Oline could get it done.

We have a strong, conditioned line....now lets see some smashmouth football players.

Get's harder for them from here.

It is shaping up to be "one of those years" for the medical staff. There is no rhyme nor reason for it. We have one of the top conditioned teams in the country...the practices are all the same...and the medical staff is top notch. I have seen this time after time where injuries seem to run in cycles. This is just a bad cycle.

Not good news.
According to Rocco, Stone has been our best lineman for the first two games.
According to the video interview, He graded out higher than all the others who get all the "hype" and attention.

Following Liberty’s 42-0 win over Charleston Southern last Saturday, Flames coach Danny Rocco awarded the offensive game ball to a Flames lineman, giving the honor to center Mike Godsil.

It was an indication that the Liberty line, which has been inconsistent this season, has finally hit its stride. For the first time since the opener, the Flames’ line is completely healthy, and the return of guard Britt Stone to full strength has helped the unit come together.
