A Sea Of Red

One of the darkest days in FlameFans history happened exactly 13 months ago tomorrow. It was the day the Libertine left the board. Each year it was expect that he would write us a goodbye letter around the time training camp started letting us know that he was hibernating until the season was over. He did this before the 2006 season, and we were better that year than in 2005. He did this before the 2007 season, and we were better than in 2006. So, being superstitious, I thought it a good idea to make up a goodbye letter for the 2008 season so that we can be better than we were in 2007. Seeing as how I know him pretty well, this is how I think it will go:

It is that time again. Football season has started. Because of this, and because of my desire to be the best at my position in the entire world, I will now enter my cave until December. This is different than in past year because normally we are done playing in November, but this will not be the case this year. Play safe and come to games. Perhaps the LUnatics could grow mustaches during camp as a salute to their fallen comrade and to keep his spirit alive.

As a newbie, may I ask where Libertine went. SJ mentions tragedy and his being "fallen", but also says he knows him well...

Libertine was asked to withdrawal from his participation on the board by his employers to avoid an appearance of a conflict of interest. He is greatly missed by all of us on here.

Actually he was just asked to quit posting during work hours but instead of causing a possible thing of when he was working and when he wasn't, decided to just shut it down completely. Same with Scorcho.

I always thought they were told to stop posting all together...I can understand telling them not to post during work hours...

They were only told to quit posting during work hours, but it was kind of implied otherwise.

I remember Scorcho's departure.

Ghost Rider was just coming out I believe at the time of his abrupt departure.

AG has not been here in quite awhile, but still has 1.32% of all posts as well as 2.63 posts/day!
