Liberty Christian Academy wide receiver Patrick Kelly has a God-given ability to go up in a crowd and come down with the football in his hands, often in the end zone.

“That’s really my favorite thing to do,” said Kelly, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound senior. “When we’re in the red zone, (quarterback) Mike (Rocco) just kind of puts a jump ball out there for me and lets me go get it. I’m all about those jump balls … just because I’ve got pretty good jumping ability.”

Kelly, who also does the long, triple and high jump in track and field, may not be as physically imposing as some, with a slender frame and lanky legs.
And here is what we are most interested in reading ...
Like Engledove, Kelly has received recruiting offers from LU and Army.

“I’m thinking about committing to Liberty soon,” said Kelly, who may also entertain offers from a few ACC schools, benefiting from recruiting interest geared toward Rocco and running back Desmond Rice. “I just like the environment, the coaching staff, they have a genuine love for all the players, it seems, and I want to go and play for somebody like that.”

Can't say enough good things about Patrick and his family in general... Great people and Patrick has come a long way in two years, I know a lot of schools like him and some bigger offers will come if continues to wait... But I wouldn't be surprised if stayed home...We talked a few weeks ago and he seemed to like his vist to Army...

Is this new news or old news? As an LCA fan I look forward to watching him play for LU some day. Michael Rocco to Patrick Kelly is a beautiful thing to see. I forgot to post the link earlier, sorry about that.

That is indeed the first published confirmation of what we were hearing was a probability.

Welcome to the family, Patrick.

Patrick is the real deal. Incredibly gifted. Great hands...if he can touch he will catch it. Not afraid to take a hit and not afraid to give one. It's always great to see an immensely talented LCA kid stay home and go to LU. I'm wondering if the great season Lu is having helped sway him to stay. I am glad he's on board. I think you'll be hearing his name a lot in the future.

(by the way..are those his correct stats at the top of the thread .... I really don't think the receiver threw 4 interceptions.)

I'm thinking that he played defense and CAUGHT 4 INT's.

TTL is correct.

Now if we can just convince his QB to stick around when his decision comes around next year then our class will be very nice once again.

that'd be good if we had a qb/receiver combo coming in that already had chemistry. in a couple years if it worked out they could be leading us to a championship!
