Recruiting decisions put on hold for now

For three straight weekends, Jay Weatherington showcased his skills at camps hosted by Virginia Tech, Maryland and Virginia. It was worth the effort as it gave the school’s football coaches a chance to see the Woodbridge High School lineman in person.
But needing a break from the recruiting process, Weatherington took this week off and headed to Myrtle Beach.
“It’s good to have nothing to do,” Weatherington said.
The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Weatherington already has offers from Boston College, James Madison, Liberty, Richmond and Navy. But he’s waiting to see if he will get any additional offers before making a final decision.
Assistant coach Bud Foster, who recruits Northern Virginia for the Hokies, told Weatherington at the Virginia Tech camp the weekend of June 8th, that if the decision was up to him, he would extend an offer.

Nice looking lineman. Hope he is a gamer. Wach doing a good job running off lineman who will not work out for our team.
Starting O-line had some good weeks.
Hard to out score special team failures (not Wach's fault on that).

Wach is an old O-line coach who takes it very seriously.
Here is more confirmation on Jay's commitment ...

Saying he felt more at home there than any other school he visited, Woodbridge senior lineman Jay Weatherington decided Liberty University was the place for him, calling head coach Danny Rocco and assistant Marshall Roberts Monday afternoon.
“Being down there, it felt right,” Weatherington said after visiting the Flames Oct. 28. “I liked the overall feel there. I visited Old Dominion the day before. But… (Liberty has) a real strong program. I felt I fit there better than anywhere else.”
Weatherington had also received scholarship offers from the University of Richmond and drew interest from the U.S. Naval Academy where his brother, Zack, played defensive end for two years (a neck injury cut his playing career short, but he remained enrolled). Boston College showed interest early, but backed out after Weatherington deliberated longer than they wanted to wait.
Having switched from tight end to right tackle this year to make up for losses to graduation on the offensive line, Weatherington has several options when he arrives at Liberty next year.
“They haven’t decided where to play me yet,” he said. “They said it’s possible to play offensive line or defensive line or tight end. I don’t have a preference, I just want to play football somewhere.
“It wasn’t too much different,” Weatherington said of the move. “I was more of a blocking tight end anyway, so it was not too much different.”
